kinda nervous since i just got my phone yesterday, im worried anything goes wrong and bricked my phone

Very happy with stock GB (JVB) + cfroot kernel (3.1) + ext4 lagfix and tweaks. Got sick of worrying about battery consumption so now with a 2700mAh battery, my battery woes are over. Will wait for a Galaxy S3/4 with quad core cpu before I retire my SGS, I think.

GPS is better on JVB, locks fast but still not as accurate as I need it to be. Good thing I am not using my SGS for navigation, only foursquare check-ins..

On the other hand, I am sick of my iPad. Looking out for a more powerful and usable tablet with no locked-in content control ala iTunes (crappiest piece of software on the planet bar none).

I'm waiting for Samsung Android tablets with Super AMOLED display. coz I want to use it as portable video player and portable gaming device. so that my SGS can rest and do what its supposed to do: making phone calls and send text messages. LOL

+1 with replacing SGS with Samsung android with quad core cpu. because I want to play Crysis 2 on it. LOL

galaxy tab 2 8"? i thought samsung ain't gonna release that on market?

I have the july batch. GPS performance was really bad. Newer roms and modem in the 2.2.1 roms has greatly improved. I haven't done any hardware fix yet.

In flight mode, I can get gps satellite lock in 5 minutes. Location is very accurate (10m accuracy) That was when I'm in Australia. Its location locking is also consistent.

I don't think samsung will replace your hardware. They never admitted the gps problem for the early batch of the phone.

But actually the upgrade offer is what 3GS subcribers on a Digi contract received to upgrade their 3GS to IP4 last year. Just hoping that Maxis will copy the same strategy.. 

i can install skype from market with no problem...maybe not available in malaysia market?

There no more lbstestmode in samsung's gingerbread. So,for those on JVK or JVB gingerbread.

what you mean by changing lock screen mod ?

if you flash a rom/theme that have the 5 screen lock, can change by going to setting > display > lock screen
