Hi all,

Please forgive me as it is really hard for me to read through all 81 pages of posts and hope someone here could help me with my simple question. notworthy.gif

1) I cannot find the Blu-ray 3D edition of Avatar as the one people use to demonstrate their 3D TV in the showroom? Even can't find it from Amazon US site?!?!

2) I never buy anything from Amazon, can someone tell me "normally" how long is the delivery lead time?

3) Does anyone have problem with our custom personnel when purchasing Blu-ray disc from oversea?

4) In Amazon, there are some title stated price for "used" and "new", what's that mean? Are we buying from Amazon or third-party online shop?

Many thanks in advanced as I want to join this group to start collecting some Blu-ray titles... nod.gif

1) Avatar 3D only exclusive for Panasonic 3D TV, not sold in market, anyway you might still able get from eBay with extreme high price tag & risk.

2) Please read 1st page 1st post.

3) No comment, depends on luck.

4) Malaysia is not list under Amazon Market Place, which means we can't get from third-party seller directly, means no used items, anyway third-party seller it is not cover by Amazon also. You only get cover by Amazon for items sold by Amazon or Fulfill by Amazon. (Some Fulfill by Amazon can't get if the seller not decide ship oversea). You can get all if you decide to use services such as vpost or borderlinx, I never try before, but it seems not cheap.

For Avatar 3D, I only found one here, but too bad it isn't Extended version.
I believe they will be release a proper 3D Extended edition in future?

Actually it is our company had several bad experiences with Malaysian custom department when importing goods from US. sad.gif
That's why I'm afraid I will also have problem with my purchase, scary...!

In fact, I prefer, or should I say, I trust Amazon more, and try to avoid any third-party sellers. biggrin.gif

I am highly interest in those IMAX 3D series, especially those deep sea, ocean type. rclxms.gif
And I am guessing all brothers and sisters here rather buy their Blu-ray disc from overseas because many titles are hard to find locally? Am I correct?

Thanks Andrewtst, I already read the guides from 1st page, and I will read it in more detail right now. nod.gif

I choose oversea because of it price & packaging. Local copy is expensive and 99% with lousy packaging.

OIC, thanks for the experience sharing... smile.gif

P/S: Avatar 3D is currently exclusive for Panasonic. If want to buy individually in market, wait the end of exclusive right end at 2012.  But exactly what date, I already forget.
*
No wonder I can't find it in the market. Thanks for your info and at least there's still hope... smile.gif

I just bought a Panasonic 3D TV but when I asked, the guy said the disc is free with Blu-ray player, not TV. Dont know if I had been con? Haha...!

It took me 4 months to get that 3D Avatar Blu-ray from the seller that I bought Panasonic 3D TV, you might need to keep pushing the seller for that disc. Well, of course it must be included in your package when you bought the TV sweat.gif
*
Err... thanks pAnGuInDa, looks like I need to talk to the sales person again regarding the disc... tongue.gif

Just use the exchange rate in bank website + charge that charge by your credit card.  tongue.gif

Thank you low98944, appreciate your suggestion... notworthy.gif

By the way, the first page of this post advised that check region before proceed when shop at Amazon UK,
but like this one in Amazon UK, it doesn't mentioned about region, does that mean it is region free?

That one is region free. 99% BBC documentary release in UK is region free.
Title not label as region free in Amazon is either Amazon not sure is what region or it is region lock.
Put more effort do more searching, Google around or use some region check in first page before purchase any from UK, DE, FR and IT.
*
Thanks Andrewtst, I did put some effort to learn about Regions, but maybe not in the right direction... blush.gif
Yes, I read the first page many times already just in case I miss something there. biggrin.gif
Also, just realised the price from Amazon UK is a lot cheaper than US site. drool.gif

Normally you won't facing any custom tax issue. Try maintain every shipment not over RM 500 (include shipping cost).
If you from Penang, try avoid using Priority Courier - heard few forumer here said Penang Finas love DHL.
*
I'm from Penang, I just purchased RM3xx (include shipping cost) worth of audio cables and other device, Amazon automatically put me to DHL shipping method, I cannot choose a cheaper shipment - ouch!
Luckily, no tax for me here... sweat.gif

By the way, my box have no sign of custom opening it up.... just saw [Direct Release, Pelepasan TERUS] sticker on it! rclxms.gif

That is normal for DHL.  Now I think that either this parcel still at Singapore or already dispatch to KL and then my state and only update the data when reach my state.  Their already done that for few times.
*
I wonder why your parcel went to Singapore?
I have once order from Amazon US and the route are:
US -> Hong Kong -> Bangkok -> Penang and reach me directly. Never go to Singapore at all...

Is this the one Amazon US selling at USD69.99 edition?
Why Amazon stated Number of discs: 15?

Can anyone know how much it would cost if I order and ship by DHL?
I have no confident on normal mail, by the way, who going to bear the lost if the package got lost or stolen and can't reach me?

It contains Fifteen-disc (6 BDs, 9 DVDs). Ship through DHL will cost you (29.99 per shipment) + (3.99 per item) + 69.99 (item price). Delivery estimated 3-4 Days depending on the stock availability. You can buy with confident if you ship through DHL. As you could have read the earlier posts here, delivery via Standard posting should not cost any issue unless its had been detained for inspection and other unknown causes.
*
OIC, USD29.99 is the base shipping cost, then we have to add USD3.99 per item... thanks sKyWiR3pT3lTd!
I always confused with the calculation until you tell me this! blush.gif

QUOTE(low98944 @ Jul 3 2011, 11:50 PM)
9 DVDs are Extra.  Same as DVD edition of LOTR EE.

I never had the chance to watch the Behind the scene/The making for LOTR, I love it! rclxms.gif

I'm sorry but please allow me to ask few more questions:

1) I went to a music/movie retail outlet last few weeks and I found some Blu-ray titles that are much cheaper.
Selling at around RM40-60 per titles. When I asked the sales person what happened with the price, she told me
these are cheaper because it is made in China. I ask if this is genuine, she yes definitely a genuine copy (indeed,
this shop sells all genuine CD/DVD/BD). I bought one just for testing purpose. When I get home and open it up,
I can see the disc is printed properly, but the data side I can see it is burned disc! A BD-R or something? I can see
all the local government stickers on the package, but why it is not factory pressed disc?

2) Anyone know where I can buy this Animusic HD Blu-ray? I
I did a search at Amazon but can't find it. I don't have a lot of experience purchasing goods from US, not sure if
I can simply trust everywhere? tongue.gif

Sorry for too many questions, as I just bought my first BD player less than 2 months ago, a total new-bird here... blush.gif
