how do I stop my books from becoming like this?

1) use acid free paper to make your books.
2) reduce exposure to light, moisture, and oxygen. 3) when it's really bad, use a guillotine and trim off 0.5mm from each of the 3 sides. Presto! New book! Of course you can only do this a few times ... |
