Problem details
First occurence of problem: Since purchase of new modem
Problem description: Unable to connect to the internet although all light is up and running.

Further Description
I've tried to configure the modem using the disc provided and also manually setting up the connection but still fail.
After searching around the net, I further crosscheck the following details but still unable to find the error.
Vpi&Vci which should be 0, and 35 respectively.
Encapsulation method is LLC.
DHCP is 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254.
That pretty much conclude what I've done so far.

The whole story
My previous modem which is also DSL-2640B which was given to me through Unipack deal was struck by thunder last week so I decided to purchase a same model as it should be more or less using the same configuration and I found one during the PC Fair yesterday.

After going back home and attempt to use the setting which I've backup from the old router, I found out it was unusable probably due to different firmware. I notice there are a few line which exist in Streamyx firmware setting which cause it unable to be used with original D-Link firmware.

Then I search around the internet and tried to confirm my problem which is explained on the top but nothing seems wrong to me.


PS: I'm wondering is it possible for any1 who has a working config for DSL-2640B for the original firmware to upload it for me to use?
Or Maybe some1 could tell me where I can dl Streamyx Ge 1.07 firmware so I can use the old config?

still got no answer? im looking for GE_1.07 firmware too.
i updated my modem to SEA_1.00 which has maybe a few missing features from GE_1.07 which is the guest wireless access points. was frustrated

all lights are up and still cant connect to the internet? try to check your WAN setting.

basically this will solve your problem.
or you could just use the setup wizard, it's simpler and faster.
be sure that your streamyx ID and password are correct.

i just get a unit of DSL2640B, facing same problem, the internet light is red color and show error authentication failed. Call TM, they say is my configuration wrong and wan charge for RM 100. Any sifi can assist ?

this is my first modem model...after struck with lightning..they give me a shitty modem...innacom W3400V...my ping is too high...my internet become more slower...after i got this modem....i want to change a new modem...but i'm afraid if this happen to me too...

Yes. TM guy came and use their innacom, the internet is up. They blame the dlink configuration wrong, but this dlink is working at my fren house with same configuration except changing the user name/password.
Any sifu can advise what happen ?

finally just found out why the router does not connect, try use tm default password - tmnet123

did you try the dlink thailand website, it's for h/w: t1?

don't ever flash the sea firmware to h/w: t1 routers, i've done it and i have to buy a new router.

geez.. what else other username to enter the router? cant enter router at all.. tmadmin, tmuser... also cant @@
