i got a few question that is 1st are those satria 1.3 and 1.6 chassis have it own different ?? 2nd if i mod the satria 1.3 body with a 1.8 or 2.0 CC engine in will there have any chassis problem ? (like break or pecah separuh ??)
because many many satria 1.8gsr or 2.0evo in satria body 1.3 .... and i wanted 2 buy but then scare have chassis problem with it........ and all those seller with 1.3 satria chassis already done JPJ endorsment....... so 100% can pass JPJ .......
BTW i ask so much is not about JPJ endorsement is about safety ........ using a HIGH power ENGINE in a 1.3 chassis is abit scary ...... so before i make a move wanted to understand wat is the COns and Pro by buyying a High power engine in a 1.3 satria body.....

correct me if im wrong, but i believe 1.6 and 1.3 are similiar in body.. only gti got a lot of difference due to more chassis strengthening... if suspension/brakes/etc etc change ady, there shouldnt be a reason to worry about having a tarbo engine in a 1.3 body

I'm not sure, but a lot of ppl tell me 1.6 body is not the same as 1.3. Satria GTi's body is even better!

Yeah, kevin613 is correct. But I think TS is asking whether C96 and C98 is the same apart from the name.

1.3 weakest chassis. careful of converts using 1.3 chassis, might not be tough enough, especially if the engine is

QUOTE(sinister_sid @ Apr 18 2011, 06:21 PM) same platform but different welding spot area indeed!. my mechanic stripped a 1.3 and 1.6 satria before. different in chassis strength is obvious. 1.3 are of single 'stitch' while 1.6 was 'double stitch / welding'. this translated into 1.6 chassis is almost twice stronger than those of 1.3 chassis. TS should consider 1.6 chassis to start with. else, stripped the 1.3 chassis and do spot welding before doing any engine transplant.
