QUOTE(Sitting Duck @ Mar 2 2010, 03:55 PM)
Hi, my wife is not working.. and all these while I declare my income tax as individual.

So should I continue to file it as individual or combine? What is the advantage of it filing it as individual or combine?

And can someone tell me what does "Ketetapan Umum Dipatuhi" means?

Thanks for the advice in advance.
*
If wife has zero income, choose combined to get the Tax Relief for Wife which is RM3000. If individual assessment, you don't get that.

Ketetapan Umum must be set to Setuju... ALWAYS !!! This is referring to the Public Ruling (aka rules of income tax)

If you go to https://e.hasil.gov.my/ is very confusing with the date....

Top title of menu says : e - F i l i n g 2 0 1 0

But the news portions says :-

PENGUMUMAN
Sistem e-Filing untuk Borang e-E 2009, e-BE 2009,e-B 2009,e-P 2009
dan e-M 2009 akan dibuka mulai 1hb Mac 2010

Yes

PA is not life ins.
*
Medical Practioners according to Public Rulling 2/2005 is defined as:-

3.9 “Medical practitioner” in relation to deductions on medical expenses for
parents, means a medical practitioner (doctor) registered with the Malaysian
Medical Council (MMC).

So it's not MMA...

thanks. i thought normally we can get it in roughly 1-2 weeks time (for those that submitted early)?
*
The Standard Operating Procedures should be 30 working days from the submission date, if you are lucky.

Socso is also not tax deductible, thus you don't see a column for it.

Alright, recently i received my EA form from my current company, but before i joined my current company, i have previously worked at other company, so my question is, do i need to go to my previous company and collect the EA form? and do i need to declare coz my income is under 2k, thanks
*
Go get the EA form from the previous company.
As long as you paid PCB in your monthly salary slip, you need to open a tax file.

Another highlight is the new PCB scheme. It's really a lot. I tried not putting so much deduction except for the default RM8k, EPF/Insurance RM6k and Medical Insurance RM3k; viola it's a surplus. Last time, still need to adjust here and there. Now no need. Don't know whether its good or bad. wink.gif
*
Don't understand this portion.... care to elaborate ?

If I buy a CPU by parts(eg. Monitor, casing first, then HDD,memory, cpu, motherboard later) , is it eligible for the tax relief?
*
If all the parts to make up a COMPUTER is listed in a single receipt, then you can claim it.
