So fast. this will encourage more taxpayer to use E-filing in the future! Congratz  rclxms.gif

When too many people on E-filing, it will slow down the refund process also... thus i hope e-filling users don't increase too fast. brows.gif

IRB withdrawing refund cheques issued over last week
By BEH YUEN HUI

KUALA LUMPUR: The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) is withdrawing all cheques issued to taxpayers over the past one week.

In a press statement released Thursday, its public relations officer Najlah Ishak said the cheques were withdrawn on technical grounds.

The affected cheques were issued to taxpayers for the refund from Mei 27 to June 2, she said.

She urged those who have received the cheques between this period to return them to the IRB headquarters at Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia, Bahagian Perakaunan Hasil, Jabatab Pungutan Hasil, Tingkat 5, Blok 9, Kompleks Pejabat Kerajaan, Jalan Duta 50600 Kuala Lumpur.

She promised that replacement cheques would be sent to taxpayers via post before June 10.
A recall on checks issued for refund .... no wonder ... my check for 300++, which actually it was supposedly only 78.
*
Whew... mine was before those dates... lucky not me.
What happen if you have already deposited those Mei 27 to June 2 cheque ? It will bounce ?

Best to visit the LHDN branch where your file is located. Talk to the CS agent. They are quite helpful

If you can show prove that you worked overseas for the last 6 years and have saved enough money legally, why would IRB kacau you ?

i've just received my refund from IRB last week, but the numbers are a little short from the refund in my e-filing by a few ringgit. anyone else experiencing this? a few ringgit doesn't seem a lot, and to be honest i am a bit tired with the taxation after having some hard time dealing with them, should i ignore this or write in a letter for formality's sake?
*
Just leave it... if there's extra, next year will refund again smile.gif

Don't blame the Govt for your poor budgetting skill.
Car loan : RM700.... go buy a Perodua Viva which is cheaper
Go rent a small low cost apartment
Insurance no need to buy so much....

you can claim full amount of RM3000 only once in every 3 Year Assessment, means if you claimed last year or last 2 year. you can't claim it for the current year assessment
My last computer tax relief claim was way back in 2006....
So the computer tax relief amount RM3000 is for total purchase not per computer, right ?

It's not LHDN's responsibility to "ask" you to register a tax file. It's YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY to be a good cititzen.

I don't think you can claim for all 3 netbooks, only one.take the highest one which is RM1999 and that's your relief.
*
Can you show where is it stated to claim one pc/notebook per person ?
the Lampiran budget says Komputer Peribadi or Personal Computer or PC, right ?

QUOTE(static @ Feb 25 2010, 11:37 PM)
btw want to ask, for 2009, i changed company. From permanent to contract. So this year, i received my EA form from my previous company, and for the new company, i dont get EA form (cos no epf, salary is lump sum).

When i do the tax, is it still the same taxation, as in calculated the same?

So, my previous company salaries + contract salaries for 2009 = "2009 INCOME"

From the "2009 INCOME", i do the deduction on epf (from previous company), etc? Or is it a different calculation?

A bit rugi right since i didnt have EPF for my contract, and my salary definitely higher, means higher tax? How they know how much i make each month with contract, if company didnt declare on their side? smile.gif
*
The new company must give you an EA form, even there's zero EPF.
Contractual work with EPF is better deal in the long run

2009 Income = all salary earned in Year 2009 (thus EA form is important)

Since you don't have EPF from current contractual company, just deduct whatever is from the previous job. RM6000 EPF deduction can easily attained together with life insurance.

As my wife is not working in 2009 (i.e. homemaker), I plan to do comibined assessment for YA2009.

Do we need to close her Income Tax file ?
Can her medical insurance portion be added to mine ?
