You mean comparing Mobil1 Extended Performance with Castrol Magnatec? EP is better in all the three aspects for sure.
Extended Performance is the top tier product from Mobil1, Magnatec is just a mid-tier product. They are not in the same league in the first place.

There is only 1 series of HPS, which is non-API license. It is more meant for drivers looking for performance. It has high level of zinc/phosphorus anti-wear additive, which is against environmental friendly API license.

API license series...err...is just API license series. It is formulated to fit the spec of API license.

I take those oil test advertisements as a pinch of salt now. All brands will publicize themselves as more superior than their competitors. Any of these top tier products from major manufacturers are more than good enough for most usage. Just my 2 cents.
