ic that make me wonder...... ive been following this thread for sometime now all say for 4mbps the modulation will be ADSL2+ and not G.DMT ive call the 100 but they are clueless they even dont know what is modulation (talk to their 2nd lvl support) at the end they say if can connect with G.DMT then use G.DMT la (very easy answer indeed) huhu but my ping is like =.=

i want to get 5120 caps too.. we need to call them and told them please make the speed till 5120 so that i can enjoy full 4MB line etc etc? please help huhu..

i want to share my little brother story. his 4mb streamyx caps initially set to 5120. but a few month ago he didnt forgot to pay his streamyx bills and that leads to suspension in service. after he pay up the bills his speed cap is set to 4096 resulting in poor performance usually speed test will show the DL speed is only 350kbps. he has call the 100 and even goes to the TMPoint all cant help him the typical answer would be "the speed is based on best effort only and if the speed reach 80% of the promise speed nothing can be done". 1 day my brother saw 1 TM technician doing something at his area DSLAM so he ask him about the problem and the technician set the limit just by calling the exchange. when he reach home he log into the modem and see that the caps is set back to 5120 hehehe. Moral of story better get the phone no of the technician in charge in your area.

How is your ping to the TM gateway or TM DNS servers? mine is average 40 - 50 ms rclxub.gif rclxub.gif btw the TM gateway is 219.93.218.177 and the dns is 202.188.0.135. ive call the 100 and they divert me to the contractor that install my line. after he check the line from the DSLAM he said to me that 40 - 50 ms is normal (is it?..........) but the download speed can reach 510 kbps when im DL P2P just my latency is =.= im my opinion any comment sifu's ......

u r pinging streamyx itself
40-50 ms is crazy

that whats troubling me i suspect maybe the streamyx routing is problem but the TM say my modem is the problem and they suggest to give me a replacement for my innacomm router to Dlink. ive said to them im currently USING TPLINK TD-8816 ADSL 2+ router also receiving high ping to their gateway which is 40-50ms they say that TPLINK is not compatible is it true?

They always give reasons. I use TP-Link also, they say incompatible. I said I have their old Innocomm, they say its lousy. They have to try with their D-Link. I say I tried with Linksys also, they say Linksys too sensitive.

So many reasons. In short, they will always blame our modem. xD

blaming would not solve their customer problems ive saw the fast foward documentary on tv2 2 nights ago mmm just wondering is it all fact or fiction like TM so great in their services. it took me about 4 month in making reports to make them enable the 4mbps service at my place. more then 100 time going to tmpoint and seeing thier managers. cause i know my DSLAM support 4 mbps my neighbor is working at the telekom exchange confirming that the DSLAM is indeed have that capability but the TM operation staff doesnt update on their system and resulting in 0 port available thus making any application of 4 mbps being rejected. i thought if ive upgrade to 4mbps the latency problem will be resolve but it is the same even when my ip has change to 17x.xxx.xxx.xxx range. so disappointed. when ive making video call via skype the video is pausing like every 5 second.

Sad ar..They say my area only can 1 mbps... How?

hahaha same as my problem before but after kungfu 2-3 month tiba2 support pulak 4mbps hahaha usually TMPoint just use their not uptodate system as references. 1 trick the TM Technician tell me to know that place support or not 4mbps just see the DSLAM see the code no ex like this : SYH VRF5001 first 3 is the area code but you just see the next 3 letter if VFR confirm can support 4mbps if just RF better check with exchange.
