The installer is coming to my house in 2 days time, I suddenly received disconnection just now (around 5.30pm) and the modem shows ADSL2+ now. My SNR margin left <10, attenuation >40 because of this change. I think I have no luck with 4mbps although one of the forummers (previous version thread) here received really positive changes on SNR margin and attenuation after the change of modulation. Now, it keeps giving me 115.X IP (which sucks A LOT, I was previously using the best 6X.X IP) regardless of my streamyx account (512kbps, 1mbps). Any idea on this? ***Updates - 7.58pm My line turns better now in terms of actual usage (not SNR margin/attenuation, they are still very bad). When I download something with IDM, I can see the speed starts at 4XXkbps then stays at 2XXkbps for few seconds then drops to 180-190 kbps. (1mbps account - ADSL2+ modulation) This is my ping test speedtest This post has been edited by XterNalz: Apr 19 2011, 08:07 PM

Haiz, I'm so out of luck. How can this forummer get something like this? They assigned him to another DSLAM?

My snr margin (dl) is below 10 and my line attenuation (dl) is above 40+ but my connection so far is pretty good with 1mbps account and ADSL2+ modulation.
If I'm able to get good speeds and decent pings by trying my friend's 4mbps account, can I convince the installer to let me install 4mbps? He will be visiting me in 2 days time.

Is it possible to request to change IP range nowadays? How to do it?
*I found out that when I changed my modulation to G.DMT, my ping to US servers becomes better although the IP is not changed. Is it ok to use G.DMT for long term instead of ADSL2+?

I have been using T1.413 modulation instead of ADSL2+ to get lower latency connection but with exactly 4mbps speed. You guys should try this out.
