Say, I'm supposed to get a multimedia confirmation slip and use it to get my cordless phone, right? But I only get a service acceptance form, are they the same?

QUOTE(nonameNo @ Jul 21 2011, 09:31 PM) applied for 4Mbps today morning. TM called me and made appointment with technician to check the line around 2pm++. technician came to my house around 6pm++ and bad news - cannot support 4Mbps due to the line, very bad. *ish* darn sad... btw, technician said now a lot of 4Mbps port available due to many upgrade to Unifi. so better grab it quickly. Which area bro? Can you post your SNR/Attenuation page for us here?

Came with the Streamyx in a box was DLink WIRELESS G ADSL2+ 4-PORT ROUTER DSL-2640B and I have a TP-Link 300Mbps Wireless N ADSL2+ Modem Router TD-W8960N. Which one should I use? The speed still hasn't pick up yet.

Managed to get TM to recap me back to 5120. While at it, I think they decided to change my port to another DSLAM. Noticed difference SNR Margin weaker but no issues so far.
Previously when I check my modem it shows ADSL2+ as 5118/511 this one shows 5117/508

24 hours already, and my speed is still the same. Hmm. Time to bug the 100 line
Edit: Haish. 100 line said that everything is ok already in the system. And asked me to call the installer since any problem that occurs within the three days period, should be directed to the installer.
One question, between the Riger and D-Link modem, which one is better?

Getting Started

|
So I applied for the 4MB line by calling 100. The lady said there are 29 ports available in my area and so will submit my application to the "processing department". If there is nothing wrong, the technician will come and "install". I know my SNR is good 'cos the DSLAM is just freaking next to my house and it was checked by a TM technician before.
Actually this is the 2nd time I am applying for the 4MB. The first time the SNR is good according to the technician but for some reason which I do not know it could not be done even though the service is available in my area. What is recorded in the report "Service cannot be given". WTF!
Can those who have successfully upgraded give their experiences and thoughts on this 4MB upgrade process so that I will know what to look out for instead of just listening to TM's bullshit. Thanks guys.

Finally.. Ahhh, such bliss! Added on July 22, 2011, 12:46 pmQUOTE(dirk_diggler @ Jul 22 2011, 10:41 AM) So I applied for the 4MB line by calling 100. Thanks guys. The technician will come to ur place and check your line. If SNR/Attenuation is ok, he will go ahead and set the physical cap for ur line. If possible at this point, try to ask if you can be capped at 5mbps, so that you can gain the maximum from your package. For my case, the installer did that without being asked. To set this cap, he will need to call a phone number to ask and then you will see ur DSL indicator blinking to indicate that speed reset is in progress. After that, he will test your line using his own 4mbps username to check the throughput that you can achieve. If the throughput is good, only after that he will activate ur username for ur new 4mbps package. Activation of ur new package will take between 24 hrs to 3 days. So after installation you will still be using ur old speed. This may apply to upgrades only, so new applications may be able to use the 4mbps speed right away. I don't think you can do that. This is due to the fact that BB deal packages are including the fixed line rental. However, I would suggest you to call up 100 for clarification. after a week of allow connection, today I manage to get better speed. Hope this will getting better as before which was around 4.7Mb This post has been edited by tartputat: Jul 23 2011, 10:39 PM
