Hi all, I just go to view the ASX of my friend.
The front seats are ok, space is normal and quite confortable.
However the disappointment is on the rear seats. The seats are abonormally straight, the legroom is just ok ok. Due the the straight seats, it is not that comfortable to sit on. The cabin space is smaller that MyVi. You van actually feel the sense of tight space. Opening the moonroof helps abit, but not much. The whole experience siting on the rear seats is like AirAsia short economy flights. It is bearable, but not comfortable for long journey.
Test drived the ASX as well, during the start, when i step on the pedal, the car is kinda sluggish and slow climbs up. Maybe due to he ecu or something like that as my friend said. Overall the handling is good, steering is stiffer compared to smaller car. Going through rough roads and bumps are quite good, not sure is due to new suspension or 17inch tyre.
Overall, I like this car so much, but I cant accept to buy a 130k with cabin space smaller than my gf's MyVi, as I am actually buying a car that serves as main family car.
Can we modify the back seats aftermarket?
P.S. : Saw the CX-5 as well, the rear seats are slightly better that ASX, but it still feels small, and smaller thant MyVi.
I am wondering is it all SUV has smaller rear seats space compared to sedan ? Due to the huge boot space?
Have you checked out the Subaru XV? The rear seats are roomy and comfortable but the boot is smaller though. I was considering the ASX and XV and decided on the XV. No regret as I dun need big boot space but roomy and comfortable rear seats are more important for my wife and kids.
