have any one ask authorised SC about the hiiden cruise control wiring in ASX 2WD?
I was told by an unsure Service Advisor that it will cost about RM500 to get the steering right side panel afix with the cruise control button. But he was so unsure about any impact on warranty, etc. that he asked to let him find out more before i order the part....
yes, you can put auto-cruse and even shift pedals for your 2wd asx
his prices should be lower than that as for warranty, it won't void la since you don't cut any wiring. it's plug & play, and just enable the cruise control in ECU setting.
but u still need more than just the cruise control switch. u will also need the brake switch to cancel the cruise. depends on your luck, if the brake switch is already there, and you have less thing to pay
pm kenny for his advice. he is sifu with inspira, which is basically mechanically the same with asx
thanks

basiically the brake switch is readily in your car already... mitsubishi is smart already, they dont want to have more SKU codes, so they just plug in a cruise ready brake switch for you, be it you got cruise or not.
As for the switch you have to purchase an ASX compatible one ... the last one i purchase for testing for ASX .. i got the one from outlander PHEV version (non adaptive one) .. the resistance value are difference... i end up have to open up and change the resistor to make it work .. not a lot of work, but the small resistor is very hard to find .. (i know it is a bit too technical for you ... let me summarize that ... ASK YOUR SA FOR THE 4WD 2013 model switch PART NUMBER, so that i can sort out for you ..) ...
and your SA a bit "EAT WATER DEEP" .. another guy in this forum bought it from mitsubishi service center for 400 include installation (No activation .. as MMM dunno how to do it )
as what lucifah said, no wire cuting .. no software alteration (it is just activating.. enabling) .. same case like autolock .. it should not be any issue with warranty.
right, let me ask for THE 4WD 2013 model switch PART NUMBER and take it from there...
By the way, the soft copy of the ASX user manual can be downloaded here.
Quite useful to save the user manual in your handphone for easy reference. I always find it cumbersome to take out the heavy manual from the leather bound folder to check on anything...a lot easier to browse the user manual from my phone.
After clinching the Asian Auto Allianz Auto “Best Local Assembled SUV” award earlier this year, the Mitsubishi ASX recently added two more titles to its collection of awards – from Autocar ASEAN and Cars, Bikes & Trucks, both publications choosing the ASX as a winner under their respective SUV categories.
Honestly the new breed of B segment OR STERTCHED B or some call them B+ segment crossovers like Honda HIV oops sorry HRV , Ford Ecosport, Pug 2008 , Suzuki S cross, etc. are all very superficial in a sense
They are actually SUV or crossover-styled cars without the real decent crossover height or elated driving seat position or oddball like Ecoport----having the height but short in length, narrow
With the price range of ASX or that of Subaru XV that has fallen so great (if what Musiki say above is true), it is really hard for someone with best value proposition in mind to part their money for those new breeds instead of ASX
I am just curious..and would like to ask for your opinions
Do you think HRV from Honda can be a threat to our ASX of 2WD? although one is C segment and another is B segment but i have seen how they have stretched City to have 'bigger than D segment legroom' for the rear passenger and since HR is base on Jazz/City, HRV should have quite generous space treatment too. 1.8 CVT vs 2.0 CVT. I think it can attract potential buyer since Honda is a more common brand and HRV is newer.
For 2014 they gave 6k discount...for 2015 they gave 1k-3k discount...most of showroom recommended 2wd to me coz they said more fuel efficient compared to 4wd but my eyes juz cant keep from 4wd...seriously i think push start button, stability control and hsa shud be in 2wd where this feature hv in hr-v...panaromic roof n paddle shifter is so2 to me..
Sounds like you wanted the 4wd. So, what are u waiting for. Go for it!
