Yes it's the wifi... but I could not pinpoint WHEN it happens.  There must be some trigger for it, maybe an app, a service, a setting, etc.  I was running wifi happily for 4 days and nothing happened.  Then 1 day it happened twice.  Hmmm.

Danny,

Mine a lil different. First week when I got the phone. I was heavily testing it and wifi will be on about 80% of the time. The SOD was quite frequent as 3 times a day but now after seldom use it. The SOD never happen for the past 2 weeks as I don't really use wifi and turn on when needed.

The problem now is no SOD but when I turn on wifi, can't connect event the wifi is green. i restart the service using 526 successfully but the wifi still unusable until i reboot it.

It seems to reverse now but I rather cannot use wifi then SOD.

Quick question, when SOD can we still receive the phone calls?

My SOD happened on both KB1 and KC1.

I now suspect after installing the Juice Defender, it will auto turn off your wifi when the screen is off hence preventing the SOD issue related to wifi.

Those who faced the SOD can try it out.

For those who never experience SOD, can you guys share whether you guys turn off wifi each time you use or you don't use it at all?

Hope the suggestion will temporary fix the SOD problem til Samsung release new firmware to resolve this issue.

Other than this, the phone is bang for the buck for sub 1K. Don't compare RM2K+ with this phone lar. rclxub.gif

Even for 300 extra you can get Galaxy SL but to certain ppl, RM300 is still their hard earn money. thumbup.gif

SOD caused by SD card? I don't think so but I did upgrade my SD from stock to 16GB Class 4 but can't recall whether SOD still happen after the card upgrade.

There seems to be reported issues with Juice Defender but for your info, I'm using the ahem Juice Defender Ultimate. It could be imcompatibility of free JD version with certain phones.

I think it is the wifi connection, either at your end or at the other. I have experienced this problem last week when trying to call home. When I called from another wifi location, there was no problem. Same at both ends, Ace at my end and a PC connected to home wifi at the other end.

Just wanna chip in some ideas.someone mentioned bout turning wifi on even for 18hours.could it be the compatibility issue with the wifi modem for those sod?

Mine using tm free wifi modem n office access point.

But 2 weeks d no sod except last nite, after installing game dev story,i tried rebooting using quick reboot.instead of reboot.it shutdown.it might be sod but long press on power was ok.no need remove batt.
