I've received my spare 1500mAh batts from ebay.
After messing around with them today, my Ace SOD after 12hrs up time. Regret pulling out the batt. |

If you send it in to the service center you'll be asked to leave the phone there for as long as it usually takes for the SOD to occur...or 1 day whichever is first.
I balked at that and just ask them to reflash to older firmware. |

QUOTE(ohjani @ Apr 21 2011, 11:27 AM) Add me to the SOD victims list. Let me explain my situation see whether this gives any clues to the investigation pool My experience with wifi encryptions:Bought last week from SenQ. 1) Night time using wifi on Xyzel wireless router running 802.11b/g/n WPA2-PSK SOD one time on the 3rd day 2) Day time using wifi on Dlink wireless router running 802.11b/g WEP No SOD 3) After 1 week, hands itchy, changed the day time Dlink router to use WPA-PSK SOD on the very first day after changed. Phone still clean during the SOD on the 3rd day, only has facebook and ATK installed. Not rooted and using the ori 2GB SD card comes with the phone. Already did the WLAN test mentioned in page 1. Firmware: S5830DXKC1 Could it be the encryption method or the wireless signal stability that caused the SOD? FW : S5830DXKC1 - SOD with WEP at home, and SOD with EAP-TLS at work, and SOD without wifi connected. FW : S5830DXKA9 - No SOD with WEP at home and SOD once with wifi OFF. No problem with EAP-TLS and no problem (so far) with WPA at 70hrs. I wouldnt say there is any connection between wifi encryptions and SOD in my case. Its very likely to be multi factor thing. Would you consider to try to remove ATK and try? |

QUOTE(minmin @ Apr 23 2011, 02:33 AM) so far half day usage no lag/no bug. have you reinstalled all your previous apps and still find it smooth?very sastisfy i bet this firmware is a leak from the coming official 2.3 firmware for europe region, might be samsung developer purposely leak out to check the feedback from usage. so no doubt the galaxy ace will very soon has a official gingerbread release. (european first and than only asian, weeks/months of waiting time la I mean everytime I factory reset it always feels like butter but after loading a few apps and widgets it starts to bog a little. Not sure if Gingerbread has extra butter in the baking lol... |

QUOTE(infinityjc @ May 1 2011, 02:20 PM) Guys, after I use this method, typing *#*#526#*#* until today I don't get SOD anymore... Funny, i got an SOD about 2 hrs after i mistakenly typed the *#*#526#*#* code. Prior to that I was on 130hrs uptime.I'm not sure if it is true...it seems this method is to reinstall the WIFI driver...and by doing so, it could help to eliminate the SOD problem. No need to downgrade to older firmware like KA6 or whatever. Second thing, I'm using Papago X5 and recently I went to Johor from KL. So I try to use the GPS and set the destination in Johor. You know what...the Papago cannot lock in the Satelite until I also already reach the destination, the fellow is still searching for Satelites....WTK!! But it didn't happen while in KL town. Very fast to lock in satelite... I wonder why why...sigh! Please advise me...thanks use an app called gps status to lock your position before start papago. also you need to be stationary while its searching. while moving, it'll take almost forever. |

QUOTE(Sunshines @ May 2 2011, 04:48 PM) ;sorry for the poor english: Only samsung froyo phones can have built in http proxy for browsers such as the default browser and dolphin. however, other proxy protocols such as socks or ftp or anything else won't work. also most apps that connect to the internet somehow cannot recognize the proxy or use some funny protocol, so it wont work also. i checked out a few motorola devices as well as the sony e arc, all dont even have proxy support. |

Been using for the past 3 hours without any problems. Applications are installed smoothly as well. Titanium backup works well ( free version ). |

QUOTE(MerzadNazmi @ May 5 2011, 03:16 PM) guys, currently downloading the gingerbread package xxk something. did my homework and stuff and decided, I will upgrade it tonight. I would first test out third party camera app can focus or not (people keep reporting this issue but i don't see anybody saying they tried or third party apps are a solution) pray it all goes well ^^ if want to scrutinize the picture, is better to transfer to laptop or pc before saying the picture out of focus. It may be the camera app purposely reduce the viewing resolution for better performance / speed.Anyway you can notice this already in froyo, the picture review after snap picture is always blur-er than when viewed in Gallery. hope it goes well with you (May the force be with this android). |
