hello guy, I just installed PapaGo on my Ace. The problem is.. how to use it? I want try set destination but I don't know how to set them. Can anybody teach me or provide me some guide to use this apps?
*
Just switch ON the GPS (the shortcut by pulling down the notification), then open the Papago X5.
The Satelite icon on top right will be flashing indicate to search satelite available.
While waiting satelite to lock on, press POI Search and type keyword means your place that
you want to go. Once done, press search and all places name will appear that close to your destination.
Select the name you want it and message will pop up, then you can select and enter as Destination Point.
Finally press "GO"...that's it!

Enjoy...

For short. rooting let you gain access administrator right that is locked by the phone company by default. by rooting let you able to modify the system which suppose to be locked to avoid people mess up the system and render it useless.
The most common thing for people to root it is for moving those app/games that can't be moved to memory card by default which.eat up main storage which is phone inner storage. some people wanted to used custom/personnel rom that suite their usage and even some people want to use custom theme for the phone. by right, for those don't know to use it should avoid it as it will void your phone warrany if you mess up. You no need to root if you are a normal users.

Add on: even if you moved your application to your memory card doesn't mean will free up all the phone memory as there will be package data left over at phone memory for it to run.

This is what I know about rooting. it may vary from the actual info
Posted from SGA.

Thank bro for your such good explanation. I think I would not go for rooting after you explain. Quite risky...lol

I not face any SOD after 2 month use.
*
My SGA is 3 weeks old and experienced 3 times SOD do far. What I noticed the SOD happened could be due
to Wifi which also claimed by other forumer. But I really wonder how could Wifi can cause the SOD or any other problem?

It's very scary and frustrated when you found that the phone has OFF by itself without knowing it.
Any solution so far to counter it?

Any improvement you felt?

This Ace really really got problem. First SOD now WIFI...WTK!!!
I don't know what else is coming to scare out from nowhere...

Does new firmware correct all the errors and bugs?

I reset my phone but problem still persists. It was the original firmware KB1 back then.

I just updated to KC1 through kies yesterday. Till now no wifi problems ... yet ?  rclxub.gif

Anyway, after I updated to KC1 I had my first SOD.
It was really weird. From 3 am > 10 am today. My battery drained from ~60% to 14% after i pulled out battery and restarted my phone.
My phone felt very warm as well.  rclxub.gif

Going to try it out for a few more days now. If problem still stays maybe I'm gonna send to samsung repair center sad.gif
*
Wah like ka...then I better don't update first...seems like worst after updating. Sigh...

May a fix come soon. God bless us. xD

That's what I've been trying to tell everyone. Older firmware versions don't get SODs. Usually the ones complaining are the ones with DXKC1.
*
Bro, not only KC1, but also to KB1 which is original version of Ace when I bought it. I got SOD few times liao...suspected is WIFI caused.

Guys, after I use this method, typing *#*#526#*#* until today I don't get SOD anymore...
I'm not sure if it is true...it seems this method is to reinstall the WIFI driver...and by doing so, it could help
to eliminate the SOD problem. No need to downgrade to older firmware like KA6 or whatever.

Second thing, I'm using Papago X5 and recently I went to Johor from KL. So I try to use
the GPS and set the destination in Johor. You know what...the Papago cannot lock in the Satelite
until I also already reach the destination, the fellow is still searching for Satelites....WTK!!

But it didn't happen while in KL town. Very fast to lock in satelite...
I wonder why why...sigh!

Please advise me...thanks

Not for me. Seems like your case is pretty rare bro. First time I've heard someone saying problems with their audio jack  rclxub.gif
Using Papago X5  biggrin.gif  Works like a charm. Although sometimes getting a lock on the satellite can be quite slow. ( can be solved with applications that help with satellite locking i guess.)
icon_idea.gif  welcome to the ace gang  brows.gif  thumbup.gif

any suggestion for the satelite lock apps?

I used to use GPSFix last time. Works well for me  blush.gif

I heard there's one more app called GPS Aids V2. It works for samsung galaxy S series, and requires root access. You might wanna give it a try  biggrin.gif  I'm not sure if it'll work on ace though. Good luck !
