Please count me! I got Galaxy Ace for my wife yesterday as my present when I back from work.

Now monitoring the SOD. Is it still happen for the new one? Or maybe just the 1st batch got the SOD.

Who have give a try flashing to Gingerbread? At the samfirmware.com, the Gingerbread listed on 18 April 2011 for Galaxy Ace with XXKP8 code. Check the source: http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-s5830.htm (Need to register)

FYI, me myself was using Galaxy S for 4 months.

Added on April 27, 2011, 8:13 amI logged-in samfirmware.com just now and i saw new gingerbread firmware with code: XXKP9 and date 2011 April 20.

Who wanna make a test run?

That's what I've been trying to tell everyone. Older firmware versions don't get SODs. Usually the ones complaining are the ones with DXKC1.

My wife still ok, not facing any SOD with DXKC1. She just stay at home, not working, just being a baby sitter for our baby. So, I don't subscribe data plan for her. I don't set APN. She just can go internet when I back to the home and make my Galaxy S as an internet access point (AP).

Maybe coz she don't heavily use the internet, then she don't facing any SOD yet.

Suggested to use green power for manage your WIFI and data plan. You can found it at Android Market. It can reduce battery drain.

Who have facing SOD, try use green power. I guess, it can manage to solve the SOD when you use WIFI. My wife's Galaxy Ace still running properly without any SOD. What I set for her phone just off the dataplan and on the green power.

For best result, please root your phone before use the green power.
