I'm find that the power adapter when plugged in, battery charging while playing game, it got very very hot. like a hot water glass. Is that normal?

But it got so hot till you can't hold it for long. this doesn't happen to the other notebook power adapters i've used. it's so hot that i can't even put it into the bag immediately. have to let it cool off for awhile.

What can i do to speed up the boot up time?

I'm using U41SV and my boot up time is about 90sec!

Tried to install (item 3) from the download link lee_what2004 provided on the first page but it states that my unit does not meet the minimum requirement to install.

Any idea?

Tried it. managed to shave off about 10 to 20sec only from the previous 90sec and the speed is inconsistent.

And i find that the boot time is getting longer again back to 90sec or more.

Can i run this process (as per link) for a second or more times?

Can, but don't think it would help much.

What about if you disable all startup ?

Disabled all startup i get about 45sec. but i wouldn't want to disable everything there.

Any suggestion?

Model Asus U41SV

Anyone experience this with their kensington lock?
I've only used it under normal application for less than 10 times; no excessive pulling or dragging or any theft case but yet this happened.
Emailed to asus and below is their reply:

We apologize for what you are facing at the moment.
From the picture, the damage seems to be caused when inserting and pulling the Kensington lock. The lock is suppose to be securely holding on to the metal holder inside instead of the plastic itself. As for the dented areas of the casing, it also seems to be knocks from trying to insert the Kesington lock.
We are sorry but cases like this will not be included under warranty repair.

Sigh..is it me or is the material ain't hard and durable enough?

Hmm..one of the cause might be the design of that kensington lock (the paria one) that i used where the gap from the 'T' head to the base is too big allowing more movement which tend to bend and break the upper flange.

But then again, it is a design flaw too of that slot whereby the thickness at the upper flange is only about 1mm. Not to mention the plastic material used which is a bit too soft.

Another issue I suspect is that the design of the slot is not in accordance to specification whereby it is slightly bigger by ~1mm at both ends.

All these added with the paria lock I used which is slightly smaller is giving more movement space inside the slot and create a higher chance of failure.
