Well, in case your HDD kaput or you change new HDD or you want to delete the recovery partition, you can use the disc to restore..

Dear sifu Lee_what2004,
I found this
"Overclocking result on A42JV using SetFSB with setting = ICS9LPRS365BGLF by lee_what2004" on the 1st page.
So, 'm wondering if I could overclock my A43SV with SetFSB ?

Thanks in advance...

BTW:

@ErgoProxi, how much the temp drop?
*
Used CPUID hardware monitor version 1.18, 2 took MAX temps @ idle(untouched for 15min or so) during night without A.C or fan n closed window:

Condition Temps
Without cooling pad : 61 c (Avg of 61,63,59)
With modd cooling pad : 55.3 c (Avg of 54,58,54)

Note:
-Dun know whether the software is accurate or not.
-Testing starts as soon as Sifu lee_what2004 posted the question.
-Temps were taken taken @ same night/morning(look @ my edited time) without restart or shut down but didn't took room temp.
-Used A43SV: i7 -2630QM, Nvidia Gt 540M with working optimus ( GPU-Z 0.5.4 proved it by indicating drop in clock ).
-Using cheap cooling pad. So, i dun xpect much temp drops.

Btw, still a NOOB n please DON'T b ANGRY WITH ME if the result is INVALID, 'm always nervous around a Sifu .

-updated again

Dear sifu lee_what2004,
I want to speed up my boot time.
Could u suggest me what should be enable or disable in System config (msconfig) ?
keep having crashes n BSOD when tweaking with it.
I managed to fix those crashes n BSOD by loading win7 in safe mode n select normal startup in system config.(later, restart)

Need confirmation/Help ASAP.
Does using notebook without the battery(while plugged to wall) will currupt the OS(Win7)?
I met a ASUS dealer (not the penang royal club) in perlis, n he told me that using notebook without the battery(while plugged to wall) currupted the OS(Win7) while pointing the ASUS Power Hybrid logo on my NB( dun know y).

I didn't believe him n give my A43SV 2 some1 else 4 formatting.
btw, he said RM30 for data backup n reformatting.

After a clean format(I lost all DATA cry.gif ) n re-installed all latest drivers. My A43sv is finally working well rclxms.gif without BSOD (xcept when tweakin la sweat.gif ).

BTW, the ASUS windows7 recovery partition is unavailable(unable to access it, although I pressed F9 mad.gif ).
Do any1 know how 2 fix this? icon_question.gif
Please dun say I've 2 sent it to ASUS hospital . sad.gif

p/s: a friend of mine said that i've 2 use the recovery DVD(burned by ASUS AI Recovery) if formatting is needed.

Did you delete the Recovery partition when you reformat ?
*
the Recovery partition is STILL there. blink.gif
After reformat, it was recognized as e: , but i already remove the latter(not delete the partition) n it's hidden now.
However, 'm still unable 2 access it during booting(pressed F9 like crazy la vmad.gif ).

hi everyone,

my asus A42JV got into problem after update intel hd driver and gt 335m driver
now my laptop cant boot into anything, the screen stay blank.
after a few try, sometime the laptop will boot, but it will hang half way.

i start suspecting hardware failure.

I plan to send it for warranty.
1.where do i send for warranty?i know there is asus centre in bukit bintang and asus did provide pick up service.Any 1 know roughtly how long Asus will take to service the laptop?
2.Will they reformat my hdd?cause inside have important data.
3.I did upgrade ram b4,do i need to take out my ram?
Thanks for reply in advance
*
if u got receipt proving u upgraded when u buy it(same store n same time, same receipt), then it's okay.

if upgraded it after buying it, remove it.
