He said it should be all set in an hour. Arghh.. this is frustrating. First the one month delay, then the installers forgot to bring their ladder along, and now this..

we're in the same boat.. im waiting since thursday but still not getting the HD service activated.. called astro CS many times but not helping at all.. i wonder what take them so long

U need to speak to the team leader or manager on duty.  Talked to those low level Assthrow CS will not help you.
*
ok.. i will give a try..

QUOTE(Playboy21 @ Jun 12 2011, 06:01 PM)
Okay so I just called them, and they told me it should be activated within a 24 hour period.

@stuffx, just HD, or you can't view anything at all, like me?
*
none when using HDMI port.. i can view via video port only.. meaning the HD service is not yet activated

Sorry for asking about this once more, but prior to activation, is it normal for the TV to not detect any signal from the decoder? As in the HDMI cable is already connected, but the TV fails to recognize the source, and thus fails to display anything at all, apart from an error message.

Called Astro, and they're just as clueless doh.gif

My decoder displays this, "C 101" and I can't change the channel or anything.
*
Have u tried to connect using video port instead of HDMI port? In my opinion it looks like they don't activate ur HD service only, which is happening to me rite now

Yes... RM150 installation fee for B.yond PVR. Installer would lay 1 more RG-6 cable + new decoder + 1 additional LNB.
Tied to 24 months contract.
*
d@mn.. so superpack is actually such a trap

Did you pay for installation to B.yond ? Currently this is FREE if you return all items (Dish, decoder, remote) in good order.
*
yup i did pay rm199 for byond installation. so i should not have to pay another installation fee if i upgrade to superpack?

Well.... If you upgrade to SuperPack and don't need PVR decoder, then you pay nothing.
Upgrade to B.yond PVR has always been charged RM300 fee (now is promo RM150 fee until Sep 2011)
*
but all superpack packages include PVR as well. so i guess they will force subscribers to change to PVR decoder too?

Nope. 'cause i'm at SP1 and still using B.yond decoder. smile.gif
*
owh that's good.. cause i dont really need PVR.. just want to get more channels at lower price smile.gif

QUOTE(emenwai @ Jun 15 2011, 03:03 PM)
just buy the WD My Passport AV to use your pvr function. But still need to fork out money to buy the HDD, which was what I did. But compare RM 150 to change PVR decoder, I think more better change the PVR decoder. I bought the HDD cause I can claim the money back from someone.
*
i think it's better to stay with my current byond decoder coz i dont really need the PVR function

What type of file that the PVR recording will be saved into? Is it mpeg or mkv or anything else? Can we copy that file and play it on computer or is that file digitally protected?

You will got all in what their mention on superpack1. It up to you wanna use it or not. If next time you buy external HDD for recording, then just plug it and no more fee for you to pay.
*
is that simple? no need for 2 LNB installation?

2 LNB for B.yond PVR multi-tuner enables you to
1. record 2 channels at the same time
2. record 1 channel and watch 1 channel at the same time
*
based on your statement, i can assume that

1. if i subscribe to SP, i can simply attach any external hard disk drive to my byond decoder just to enable the PVR service

2. 2 LNB is not necessary for PVR service to work

correct me if i am wrong

Huh? so it is a must to use 2 cables lar for PVR? how about normal Beyond decoder? Btw, it costs more than RM300 for the stacker de-stacker that you were talking about...
*
why do u want to use single cable only? just wanna know if there is a good reason to use single cable

Astro CS make a boo-boo with my B.yond PVR upgrade (from normal decoder). Instead of RM150 installation, the order sent to Astro installer was the old RM300 price.... Now i have to wait longer.

P.s. The promotion of RM150 install fee for B.yond PVR begins on 15 June 2011 until Sep 2011.

Also we can get the assigned Astro installer contact info upon 24-hour after order isplaced.
*
u mean we can ask the contact number of the installer after 24 hours of order submission? i've been waiting for a week now

i called astro just now to follow up my pvr request but the CS told me that the previous CS did not submit my request.. what an idi0t

my PVR request chronology:

16 june - 1st request, the respective CS told me to wait for 5 working days

22 june - the respective CS claimed that no request received from my previous call, will resubmit another request and have to wait another 5 working days

24 june - entertained by a senior CS, claimed that previous request failed to submit due to my address issue in their system. resubmit new request on the spot and finally successfully submitted. have to wait another 5 working days

wasting my time a lot.. *sigh*

boycott? it's not gonna work. not even 10% subscribers will have faith to live without astro for 3 months.

the real issue is we don't have alternative other than astro

If only Unifi HD channel is available nationwide... hmm.gif It would be nice for Astro to take Channel [V] HD, then. tongue.gif
*
unifi is not even close as a competitor.. the offered channels are not interesting enough since most entertaining channels are under exclusive rights of astro

to those of u who have to wait around 12-24 hours after pvr installation, may i know what error message that appears on your tv? mine is "please insert the correct astro smart card or call the customer service" after the installation today. is it supposed to be like that or do u see other error message?

Your Assthrow PVR is yet to be activated.  Your Assthrow installer should activate it on the spot.

i knew something was not right when he asked me to wait for 1 hour to get signals.. i will lodge a formal complaint to astro regarding this irresponsible installer for not doing their part completely
