Answer

q1. Yup no problem. u can use component cable or standard composite cable to connect to your tv.

q2. Depends, for me it's worth it but remember its almost RM40 difference from ur current pack. (SP1 + 6% tax is RM132.50).

thanks bro for the reply appreciate it..so do they (astro byond) comes with standard cables? or we have to purchased extra?

The cables you get for upgrading to astro b.yond:

20m RG-5 Coaxial Cable
1 set RCA cable
1 HDMI cable

Extra coaxial cable price is depends on the installer
*
thanks again.....if i upgrade from my current normal decoder to byond decoder its FREE....and let say i opt for super packs - RM 125....do the RM 20 exclude or include?
remember RM 20 is for enjoying HD contents....since in super pack already having these HD channels...so i just have to pay RM 125...rite? correct me if i'm wrong...not RM 125 + RM 20.... hmm.gif

The SP1 already include the HD service and recording fee. U just need to pay RM125 + 6% tax = RM132.50.

thanks bro for ALL the queries answered in perfect manner...soon will call astro and gt my byond.....how long will they take to complete this process..? 1 week?

No problem bro. Usually they take up to 5 working days, but for a little impatience customer like me they doin it faster. In my case (upgrade from normal byond to pvr decoder), i made request on thursday,  call back astro cs on sunday and they give me the installer phone no. I call the installer and he came to my house on monday noon.

After he finished installed and left, i notice my pvr cant record a thing. I call back astro cs and complaint, the technician guy call the next day and came to my house on wednesday. He replaced the decoder and wait until it got signal and check the recording function and its working.

U just need to keep nagging them and be a little bit impatience customer and then they will serve u better.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
sure will nagg them till max....they're no diffrent to streamyx agents....

bro....if i jump from normal astro to PVR decoder...is it FOC too?

Suggestion: Try 2call Astro Cust Serv on 3rd day after. Find out which Installer has been assigned to do the Installation. Request for his contact nos. (H/P, Office, Home Tel?) icon_idea.gif
Then contact the Installer directly 2come 4installation on nxt working day. whistling.gif

Best of luck!! icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on July 23, 2011, 6:34 pm@Gala34 : Actually the Gamma value shld b MORE than +2 ie +2.5 but my TV not allow such a value. So I'd 2set it to +2 only. wink.gif

Added on July 23, 2011, 6:42 pmps. Can share & compare the Sat. Signal value? Mine is 154 for each terminal (PVR).
First terminal fluctuates fr 151 to 154 whereas the 2nd one steady @154 most of the time.

Also 1st Terminal is "Locked" but 2nd is "UNlocked"! It was BOTH "Locked" on activation y'day but found it's changed now.

Can anyone pls clarify why the difference?

thanks bro for the info... notworthy.gif

FIFO concept: To free disk space for new recording, the oldest recording will be deleted. So your very first recording in the PVR will be deleted.
*
better choose manual..so u have the right to delete....

Added on August 1, 2011, 10:08 amhello byond PVR owners....yesterday astro super sport HD was blank during 8pm onwards - F1 hungary...so i have to watch normal SD version...may i knew why so?

Just got my Beyond installed yesterday after upgrading to Superpack which costs RM153 + 6% per month. However did not want the PVR as it costs RM150 but the issue is not money but the extra cabling which I do not want to add and make my house messy. Now enjoying the HBO screening in HD biggrin.gif
*
the cables are not that messy..u can hide behind tv rack or conceal the cables..PVR is very useful... rclxm9.gif

Yeah it might be useful but then many of the shows is repeating so can live without it... smile.gif
Anyway so far so good, all HD channels appearing nicely and no lost signal as our forummers here reported *touchwood*.
*
the purposed of repeat shows are sometime useful...not everyone can watch their fav show at same time...so they can record it & watch later....or watch some other time when they repeat the show some other day....for RM 150...i guess its worth to upgrade to PVR....later price will increased to rm300....at the end of the day is the users choice.... nod.gif
