I may be wrong but I think mostly the First Video On Demand Channels will concentrate on local Malaysian productions which are cheaper when compared to the latest US blockbusters in current cinema release. Its also not possible for blockbusters such as Transformers 3 shown currently in cinemas to be released as VOD here because the film distributors will not sell screening rights to Astro. Therefore, what will be procured by Astro to be screened in First VOD will be B rated, budget or lower cost productions from independent film companies. I don't expect big production companies from Warner Bros, Universal, Paramount, etc will ever release their blockbusters to Astro First when they can make better profits from the current releases in the international cinema circuit. They also don't want pirates to duplicate from Astro First in
HD their big budget blockbuster movies currently showing in cinemas.
For Astro First, the foreign english movie mentioned by Qash-M is "Flypaper" which you can easily check from the info by going to Channel 489 using your Astro decoder.
Movie Info - FlypaperIt is not a big production movie produced by an independent film company and distributed by IPC. IPC also distributed many other (unheard off) B-Rated, budget and bad flops (forgettables) such as Boogie Woogie (2010), The Good, The Bad, The Weird (2010), No One Knows About Persian Cats (2010), Vincere (2010), Stolen (2010), etc.
The cast included Patrick Dempsey, Tim Blake Nelson, Ashley Judd, Mekhi Phifer, Greg Germann, Pruitt Taylor Vince. Please correct me if I am wrong... as of 19-08-11, it is currently showing in only 2 theatres (cinemas) in the US, hehe !
How good is the movie ? I don't know as I have not watched it but I "suspect" its another average movie that I will not spend on the Astro First (1 Movie) subscription, and instead, spend on chicken rice and kopi bing !Â
Movie Synopsis : Tripp Kennedy (Patrick Dempsey) ambles into a bank near closing time, just as two different gangs unwittingly converge to rob it. A shoot-out erupts, and Tripp tackles the smart, pretty teller, Kaitlin (Ashley Judd), to protect her.
Although highly unlikely, even if current latest big blockbusters (such as "Harry Potter 7 Part 2") were to be shown in Astro First, I think it will be very expensive to subscribe for each movie.

 Regards.
Yes astro wl ONLY screen average rated.Morever pls note that nothing is like a cinema,I understand that TV versions slightly differ from cinema version, some parts are removed quietly to protect each other interest.say no to AF!
