Hi.

A new forumer from Singapore wish to buy a book from me.

Total cost RM92.
Book cost RM50 and pos laju cost RM40.

1 SGD = RM2.40
RM92 = SGD38.33

The buyer said he can bank in money through CIMB (he claimed there's CIMB branch in Singapore).
Maybe I'm just being paranoid but could this be another way of conning people?
Maybe after bank in the money, then something happens; claiming many issues etc.

as a matter of fact, CIMB is indeed present in singapore. Like Maybank and OCBC, the banks now offer a convenient way for tourist to transfer money from Malaysia to singapore subject to a limit. I remember there is a charge of SGD2.00.

If you are afraid, then use paypal.

Maybe one day will use paypal...for international transaction.

But heard there are cases of con via paypal as well.

He confirmed RM92 = SGD38.33.

His partial address;

18 Marina Blvd.
Singapore 018980.

Hope this would be my maiden international transaction biggrin.gif

Just wait till he bank in and check your bank , make sure got receive.

and don't click any link he sent to u.. the link might be a hacking system.. so you just login to cimb to check is most safe ^^

Thank you for the advice notworthy.gif

I have CIMB and Maybank accounts.

But cannot use online banking anymore; not much transaction...so bank terminated the online account.

Normally I just withdraw money at the counter.

ATM card cost RM12; MAHAL biggrin.gif

Still...might apply the ATM card since easier to check transaction online instead of went to the bank each time sweat.gif

I Googled 'Singapore 018980'.

Seems that the location does exist.

Still, I'll follow our friend Strawberry<3 advise; not to click any links given via PM.
