Hi,

Would like your learned advice on this,

I have a LED TV with a PS3 and an Xbox360 connected to it through HDMI. I use the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player and to improve the sound I was thinking of getting a Soundbar and connecting it to the LED TV.

My LED TV (Panasonic) only had optical out so I was planning to get a so-so Soundbar and plug it into the TV using the optical cable.

I was wondering if there will be any loss of sound fidelity if i plug it into the TV or should I directly plug the Soundbar to my PS3 via optical cable.

I would prefer to just plug it into the TV so that both the PS3 and the Xbox can share the same Soundbox but if there is an issue with sound fidelity then I may have to get a soundbar that supports different inputs (optical for PS3 and AV component for Xbox). Thanks a lot for your help in advance !

I think this could solve your problem:
http://www.sony.com.my/product/ht-ct150

It has several kinds of connection for your input to your TV. It will just pass your audio signal from PS3 & Xbox to the soundbar, after that the soundbar will pass the video signal to your TV. So imho, there will be no loss of sound fidelity.
