did you give your cc number and back number (CVC)? If you reject directly, still safe. If you have given them out, call your bank to suspend your CC now.

I also received a scam call from 03-2188 0000 claiming from CIMB Bank.

It was a malay chap and he has all my personal info, including IC.
He claimed that my CIMB card was used at KLIA in a jewelry shop amounted to RM2000+, when I asked him which card, he told me visa, but i only have mastercard.

I told him he got the wrong person. He sounded puzzled and hung up.

Did they ask you why they want your number?

Anyway, it is advisable that you immediately call your card Customer Service (contact number behind your card) and repeat to them the above. Your card may need to be suspended.

Next time never ever give any one your credit card number and the 3 numbers behind your card (called CCV)!

I received a call from 03 7855 0000 claiming from OCBC bank, asking for permission to approve transaction amount 6XXX.00.

When I informed that that I don't have any CC or account with OCBC bank, he told me my full name, IC no. and even home address to verify! When verified, he mentioned this card has been approved from OCBC Taman Molek JB.

Asked me to contact Bahagian Laporan Bank Negara, and gave me the number 0327262587.

I googled searched the number and found the first result is a news report of scam.

Just posting here to confirm with you guys.

I did not call the given number or gave any other info aside from what he gave me.

Best is to call OCBC directly to ask whether there is indeed a card under your name. Could be identity theft case.

Yes, I already called and they confirmed I don't have any CC or banking account with them.
they also verified the number given by the scammer and confirmed they had received similar report.
Confirm scam. smile.gif

Just received call from 0147284664 claim that will send all Maybank credit card a voicer on hotel and a holiday package.

She read my full name and my ic no correctly.
then request e-mail address and mailing address.

I think this should be ok, so i give it to her.

Now then she ask about my expired no on my credit card.
i feel suspicious and said i will never give any number on my credit card to other person.

Then she quickly said, "Baiklah.. terima kasih dan maaf mengganggu"..

This is my 1st credit card and thank to LYN forum to give lot of information regarding scammer.

my colleague received a random message saying he made a RM3999 transaction at KLIA2 using a CIMB credit card.

Ask to called a number and only to be directed to another number claimed to be from Bank Negara.

The numbers involved.

03-21683732

03-27262670

Good thing my colleague made the decision to call CIMB before anything gets worst.

Hi all,

I received a call from 0176226245 person named Farah saying that their company is able to reduce my credit card interest rate from 18% per year to 8%. She said this will significantly reduce my CC bills. She asked me to come to their office for a detailed explanation.
The company name and address: Genesis Midas Sdn Bhd. 19-02, Jalan Molek 1/12, Taman Molek, JB

Is there such a thing?

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Alert on recent phone scam [ Maybank ]

Dear Valued Customers,

We have received several reports on phone call scams from the following numbers:

03-20748067
03-20748667
03-20748664

These numbers are direct lines and genuine numbers that belong to individuals in Maybank, but the calls are made by scammers. This tactic is known as ‘telephone spoofing' (the ability to change caller ID).

The callers may identify themselves as Maybank employees or Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) representatives. The scam plays out by telling the potential victims that their IDs have been compromised for card facilities application with Maybank, and the victims are required to deposit a sum of cash into an account as guarantee for an investigation.

We advise our customers not to share your personal information to anyone and not to follow such instructions related to this matter. Please contact our Customer Care hotline at 1-300 88 6688 or 03-78443696 (overseas) to lodge your report.
