A week ago I got a call. Because I was asleep atm and answered it with half-functioning brain, I accidentally gave that guy my personal details included my 16-digit-number on my atm card along with its type (visa/mastercard).

Can he use them to misused my card? What should I do? Thanks.

This is the number 60378622020

I do not own any credit cards. Caller said he is from Prudential and wished happy birthday. On my birthday month there is a new package he introduced to me. Sounds very wow worth it. So along the long distance route, there is a short period of no phone line coverage. He was persistant. Kept calling (results in 2 numbers used) and continued his bla3. Rm45per mth only. I jst need to ans 5 simple health questions. No need go through agent. In the end I asked him must I say yes or no now? When is the dateline? (he didnt knw how to answer) Gimme sometime to think bout it (he asked if he can help me to answer any of my questions) He wants to call back since I still wanna think bout it, saturday not working so had to call me on friday (event was on thursday). So I googled his main number. SCAM!

Numbers used: +60376266800, +60376268000

He did call back but I've already blocked the numbers. Thank goodness for call block apps.

Received call from 0376268899 Hong Leong CS last week.
Automated message " you have 3 months unpaid outstanding balance in your credit card , press 0 for help" . Hang up the call and redial the same number to CS to ask. No outstanding at all.
I think I received same call before few years back. Using the same number as HLB CS hotline.

Dammit, I just received this call and bodoh bodoh press 0. The lady ask my name and IC number and pass me to some 'report' department. That's the only information that I gave them, they gave me some CC number and an address supposedly used for that.

Anything risky when I give them those info? Really dunno how they can use the same HLB number....

What do you mean by " they gave you some cc and an address supposedly used for that " ?
If you give them ur card number, best way is to report to ur bank and ask them to issue a new card with new number. If IC then nothing can be done coz you cant get new number got ic also.

As I said, I don't have a HLB card, so they ask me for my IC number and name to 'check their system'. After 'checking' the lady gave me some CC number (its not mine) and said to quote this number when report to Bank Negara.

I did not give them CC number as I don't have that. Only information gone out is IC number. Yah nothing can be done, can IC number alone be used to apply for things (without the actual IC)?

Simple, anything that smells fishy, don't proceed. Call up the relevant bank or merchant to check.

Same number call me today... I questioned her why the bank don't contact me personally. I decline their offer, and done. She don't even try to persuade me.
Maybe she already realize that I know about their scam..

Hey guys, I kena the similar situation here. Don't know any one kena before?

Today afternoon around 4pm, there is a "UNKNOWN" number call to me but I didn't pickup that call. Around 4.45pm, the same "UNKNOWN" number call again. I thought it could be some bank call, so I pick up the phone. But immediately the phone show as missed call.

About 5.27pm, I receive an notification SMS from +4444277080240 that saying I made the purchase at Agoda Company Pte. Lte (non Malaysia company) for RM434 by credit card. Immediately I call Maybank and they say that transaction is real, hence I request them to block that credit card.

I not sure whether that "Unknown" missed call has anything related to the credit card fraud or not, therefore just to share to you guys.
Nowadays very less people call that phone number already (like at most 3/4 calls per month), therefore I think it is suspicious.

Btw, is it possible Maybank will waive off this bill?

File a dispute to Maybank.

Send an email to Agoda to inform them about this fraud case. If you can get hold of the details of the person under that booking, then can even make a police report.

I saw that I need to fill in "Statement Date" and "New Card Number" in Maybank's dispute form. Do I need to wait for the statement or the new credit card come before I file the dispute?
