Applied at maybank beside Sri Pentas, attached with gloria jeans coffee roughly 2 weeks ago. Directly at the counter.

Received a call on 20/6 to pickup the cards, scam attempt on the 21/6.

apply using m2u about 2 week ago...
received sms approval on 14/6
scam attempt on 15/6

from Zaman85's post, I conclude that Maybank needs to do an internal investigation on their side

Just 1 day and already get scam attempt. So hot.

if they dont have the 3 digit number at the back.. they cant scam our money right?

i dont know... i accidentally give them my front number and my card expiry date.. but i dont give them my 3 digit number at the back.. so how? do i need to cancel my card a.s.a.p ?

Well that depends, it IS possible to obtain an approval code without the VCC (those three numbers at the back.) To be safe it's better to cancel the card.

And yes telemarketers are becoming a nuisance.

just now some lady called about this. so need to cancel the card la? just received it about a week ago.

the people calling are offering this card http://citytrendz2u.net/main/. Very freaking aggressive, i rejected like 4 times and they are still calling each day.

From what i can understand from the website, for 399 bucks you will be getting a touch and go card. Other services seems bogus, unknown clinic. Online air ticket booking is a picture....

Sweet talk you saying they are working with Visa/Bank, calling the card supplementary (kad sampingan) and can earn points etc etc then straight ask for your CC 3 digit number.

got a call from 0163364087 saying they're from card center mbb.offering some stuffs since i AM mbb card user. straight away i scold them dont call me anymore & put down the phone, since i remember that number popped up here on the 1st page (plus i'm at work)

About a Medic Lifestyle Card thats could be used together with credit card to get discount.

First, they just simply describe who they are and straight away asked that which BANK is your VISA or MASTERCARD. (Which I did not answer)

Then, they gonna ask for CC number, expiry date, and registered number (No. pendaftaran), i assume NRIC.

I didnt answer a single of their question, just try to get more info from them. That's all they wanna get. The guy pissed off cuz i provoked him and tell him to not working with the company, it's illegal!!

Got a call from 0162086243 and 0162120475 today


The first call - 0162120475

She asked if I have receive my CC. I acknowledge. She then asked what type of card Visa or Master? I said I couldnt remember as the card is not with me right now. She said she will call me back tomorrow for confirmation.



Second call - 0162086243 (1 hour after the first call)

Saying they are from Maybank and wanted to offer me a discount card since i have 2 CC from Maybank.

He got my full name & IC number. He then gave me a warning to not give the 3 digits behind the CC to anyone because bank will never asked for it (to make it seems legit? )

He also explained that the 16 digits in front is "nombor pendaftaran" and is safe to give other people this number. He then asked for my 16 digits and expiry date on my CC.

I decline to give.

So cunning and convicing. Give advice and then try to trick you. Even got your full name and IC no already.

yah, this is worrisome, many who has the MBB 2 Cards reported here that somehow people know they name and IC number

I got a call from 0162106674 today offering me a discount card. He then asked me what type of cards I have. Instead, I asked him to send the discount card to the branch. He agreed and put down the phone. LOL

Another call was from 03-2332 6982 on a Saturday.
A Malay lady called and asked me about my credit card stuffs, speaking in BM. As I was driving that time, and could not really concentrate, I asked her to speak in English. She said she will call back next time.

This number 03-79501177 everyday will call you if you didn't answer the calls.....

googled out and this number is from HLB. Must be credit card or loan.
