QUOTE(audionutter @ Jun 4 2011, 10:41 PM) Not many Tom, d*** or Harry have RM200k to deposit for Premier account. HSBC VS only requires annual income of 100k, which is easier to qualify than having 200k cash! The HSBC Premier card is a World MasterCard so I guess it is more exclusive than a Visa Signature??? Even if you have income of RM100K or above, it does not mean that you be qualify automatically for the VS. If you deposit or invest RM200K with HSBC, you are automatically issued a Premier Card. Many retirees have Premier Account with banks, while they were working their salary were less than RM60K/yr. Even the unemployed have Premier cards. Take my son for example, he holds Alliance Premier Debit Card, but he's not even eligible for a classic card. And I know of two cases where HSBC Premier World Master Card credit limit is lower than HSBC Visa Platinum (now VS) Credit Limit. If you followed our discussions in previous general thread (that time only 1 thread for CC), HSBC Premier card was not really a WMC but only recently. i came across a roadshow that held in my nearby shopping center today. The sales person told me HSBC is offering 8% cash rebate discount in grocery, petrol and dining. Its valid until the end of this year. Anyone can confirm this?? The card he intro is HSBC Gold. He also told me they will waive the annual fees and government fees for the 1st year with only 3 swipes. Is this true?

for the new tricky hsbc promotion, maximum cashback u can get is
20% for premier cards, (rm100 * 2) / (500+500) 15% for platinum cards (rm75 * 2) / (500+500) 10% for others (rm50 * 2) / (500+500)
the cashback above is excluding existing points and rebates
a lot of terms and conditions which i dont like - they only allocate certain amount per week. if u complain why u didnt get the cash back, they will tell you "quota for that week finished" u will never know whether they are telling the truth or not
but for new applicants, again, only first 20000 applicants will get rm50 cash back. swipe 3 times within 60 days.

Ya .. very complicated. Really don't understand their marketing strategy. Why can't they just promote whole-heartedly and openly instead of super kiasu t&c .... time/ week limits, first-come-first-serve constraints, etc.... and their stupid sms registration... cheapskate I'm going to cancel them soon... after i try this promotion out

HSBC megasale cashback campaign The original T&Cs state that electricals are not considered as part of 'shopping'. Now in the revised version, the word electricals is nowhere to be found. Added on June 18, 2011, 9:37 amQUOTE(raul @ Jun 16 2011, 08:14 PM) sound messy but i guess i myself already hit rm150.2 cash rebate for 1st week june but max only RM100/week? Campaign week 1 to week 5, the maximum cashback is RM100. Week 6 to 10 - max is RM100 as well. For VS cards and above only. Other cards get RM75 or RM50.
