hi.. i am thinking to mod my casing and add switch to turn on/off my 500gb HDD, coz i just use it for data storage and accessing it once in a blue moon.. it's kinda like using 3.5" external casing, but the power source is from my PSU. is it doable? or is there any side effect to HDD / PSU if i make dat switch??

any reply is appreciated. biggrin.gif

but the point is i dun wan dat hdd running and consuming da power. as for ur suggestion, i do it already.. my casing is side-open (no side cover), so i directly plug/unplug da sata data cable, no need those converter also can. brows.gif

but anyway, thanks for replying. it seem this is one crazy idea.. shakehead.gif doh.gif
