any quick guide on flashing roms?  drool.gif
any link or website beside xda that you might wan to share? tongue.gif

Just my opinion.
Do not flash leaked froyo full sbf as you would loose the ability to downgrade to 2.5x (Although there is a workaround to downgrade).

Flash Nandroid backup is the safest way (the dev in xda is currently working on restoring nandroid without reboot at init2 level just like installing display driver without rebooting in linux).

I have lose my ability to downgrade  doh.gif  I am force to do a full flash cos i brick my phone....no other way.  cry.gif

You can use titanium backup to restore it. Or you can also use App Backup and Reinstall in the market.

For me also gone case. At that time I don't see any SEA sbf available at and-developers so I just full flash it.
Only then I know that these bootloaders has version 2 (2.21 & 2.34) , 3 (2.5x) & 4 (leak froyo)
Even the official korean froyo that I'm using now also version 2.

Now I'm experimenting to convert CG39.smg (extracted from sbf file) to nandroid system.img without installing to the phone first.
I'm trying to port official 2.59 back to my phone just to see whether it can be done.

i bet u mean RSD lite 4.9?

some clarification here, after i flashed back to 2.51/2.59 SEA sbf, i can flash it to liquidarc/blurginger, at the same time can downgrade it back to 2.51 rite?
*
If you don't flash full sbf you can downgrade then.
I believe the package prepared by the dev is downgradable as it only require to flash fixed sbf.

sorry to confuse you. tenfar and kb7sqi are the ones releasing the recovery console, so if you are using tenfar's recovery, your backup should be named .../goapkrev/backup while kb7sqi's recovery should be named .../clockworkmod/backup

no need to download new ones if you're ok with the current one
*
there is also another defy sd recovery can be downloaded from market. it is based on kb7sqi made by eugene

I'm using this gingerbread launcher for my CM7 defy.

On quadrant score, the guy who ported CM7 said it is not accurate for modded rom

Any improvement? I am using Go Launcher ex and so far so good.

Try to install it but got error.
*
stock Launcher2 also lag abit. To install this, copy the launcer2.apk to /system/app/ and change permission to rw-r-r. Then restart the phone.
Just found the workaround to remove lag on launcherpro ==> enable 3d appdrawer in setting.

When I got stuck like, I just pull out the battery.
then while putting in back the battery, press vol down button so the phone will go to recovery mode.
press vol up + down simultaneously.
Then wipe everything you can from the menu

Always work for me.

I suggest not to install yet as the camera do not work as reported in xda.
I have installed it myself and confirmed the camera just show black screen.

But this could be a good base for next beta/rc of CM7.

Anyone has the GSM Fix for malaysian baseband? for CM7?
*
For me, I just adb push manually the files reside in /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default/ (then change the permission chown 644 all those files)
the files taken from SEA 2.59 sbf.
I believe that is what the baseband app do.
