do I install the 2nd init from just move to sd card and click apk on it to install or there is other way?

LOL.... you are right. But I like to maintain my Defy as stock as possible, meaning using all official ROMs only. at least until I find another phone to replace it.

what do you mean until you find another phone to replace it? if replace liao, then why bother? this is sometimes why i wonder why ppl say Iphone is better. because the only use stock ROMs, so iphone is definitely better. the Iphone experience out of the box is really a wonder, especially when you upgrade from a nokia/SE. i was very amazed as well when i bought the iphone4 for my gf (she had a iphone 2g), and i was so tempted to get one myself. luckily i held my horses and waited for the DEFY (yes, waited!).

got the Defy, used it almost a month plus on stock 2.1, until i got fed up, rooted it, and waited 2 more weeks (cos april liao, though official 2.2 maybe out) until my SD card gave a problem, so had to format it...so i end up, what the heck...since screwed up, might as well go all the way. flashed some 2.2 stock ROM from EU (forgot which one), much better experience, but end up, in less than 2 weeks, i went to LiquidArc, and was a super major upgrade in experience. faster, smoother, much improved battery life...i thought this is as good as it gets, until Quarx came along with his CM7. if LiquidArc was super major upgrade, this CM7 is like the total bomb. i can easily say with CM7, the phone is as good, if not better than the more expensive ip4. now, i'm not interested with my gf ip4 at all, but then again, gotta help her jailbreak her phone soon though, so gotta go and learn some stuffs at the iphone section.

Hmmm... Compelling reasons indeed. Any issues using cm7? This is the only phone I have. The back up phone I have is an ancient motorola v8. And I really don't like using it! I really wouldn't want to revert back to using that phone if possible.

I appreciate your enthusiasm in convincing me that custom ROM is the way to go forward, but there are certain aspects of using a phone which is of more importance to me than they are to you. Cheers brother. I see that eventually, I will get around to doing it. Eventually.

I do enjoy reading up on you guys' experience in installing and using custom ROM. keep it up guys. Tonnes of useful information here, which I'm sure I will eventually use.

after a call, when you press END CALL (the red button) , does it lag? mine always lags for a bout 8 seconds after a call ends and i can't do anything but wait. it's really irritating! does your phones act the same way too?

download the nordic sbf and flash, since that is the supposedly best base SBF for it. start from there!

another thing, when i go into recovery mode(vol down+power) i saw this yellow words below the menu:

"E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/command
E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/caller
E:Can't mount CACHE:recovery/log"

I just scare my battery can't stay for so long only...
I plug my charger to the phone while waiting for the moto logo to finish loading,i think it's not charging as well..... sigh

I go to the advance option and format boot, system, cache, & everything!!! So the next thing I can do now is send back to the service centre?? 

the main thing is, learning experience. once you know how to do it, then you will be able to do it anytime easily. i mean, if you dont want to, might as well get an iphone.

Because i thought defy can't be bricked, so i try anything to fixed it.

I can flash my phone with RSD lite, but it end up stuck on the boot loop anyway....

anyone have any idea to hard rest the phone?? 'cause i only have 3 option here,
1.) stock recovery mode (after wipe or factory reset still end up in boot loop)
2.) bootloader mode (after flash still end up in boot loop)
3.) normal boot (end up in boot loop)

more than 30mins already >_<
guess I just have to send it back to the service centre to do a super master reset...lol

the service centre is just nearby my house anyway~
