Posting this on my new DM1-4000AU. I received it just a couple of hours ago.
Manage to spend about 30 minutes on this laptop and feels quite sluggish. But, that maybe because I'm running multiple updates in the background. Also, I have not thoroughly explored what is actually pre-installed inside.
I went to HP website and it seems the driver for this particular model is still not updated. Is it possible it shares the same driver as the DM1-3200 series?
Planning to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional next month. The Starter version will just have to do for the time being.
Hmm..
Now that all the software updates has finished running, it feels quite fast. I guess I'm pretty satisfied with this purchase.
I will still have to figure out how to access the RAM slots.

QUOTE(darkcurves @ Sep 24 2011, 03:53 PM) Try removing the bloatware. Didnt they provide a CD with all the drivers in it? To access the RAM slots, watch this video(Thanks to mitodna for the find) http://liliputing.com/2011/09/hp-updates-t...art-at-400.htmlNo CD supplied.

QUOTE(jsnkok @ Sep 24 2011, 05:16 PM) HP Pavilion does not come with Drivers CD as the unit is preinstalled the drivers are in the "C:\swsetup" folder Hey, thanks! Did not occur to me to look there. I noticed there are partitions named 'Recovery' and 'HP_TOOLS'. Is it okay to wipe these when I do a fresh install of Win7 Pro?

QUOTE(darkcurves @ Sep 25 2011, 08:24 AM) The only thing is, since your dm1 still has 1 year warranty, when you add this, max you will get is only 3 years, not 4 years. I'll get a care pack the moment i get my dm1, hehe. What if we register the Care Pack by the end of the current 1 year warranty period? Is the Care Pack 'countdown' starts from the date of purchase or the date of registration?
