Wow congratz!! Nice price you got there.. It's really a bargain cause HP priced this baby really smart.. Don't worry this is much better than edge 11, at least 50% more battery life..

What are the diff between DM1 and DM1Z? Searched DM1Z at PJ Digital Mall yesterday, but only saw DM1 without "Z", asked seller is that DM1Z, he answered "no". The DM1 also AMD E-350 processor and Windows 7 Home Premium.
*
It's the same thing... Dunno why they renamed it to Dm1 when it arrived in Malaysia... the 'z' behind normal indicates it is using AMD processor... The same goes with the previous generation of Dm1z...

Ok, noted. Thanks.
Was considering between Asus 1215 C-50 and this hp DM1. But I have never seen any Asus 1215 series at PJ Digital Mall ytd. Asus 1215 series seems very hard to find.
*
INM, so far 1215B only got C-50 version, better go for Dm1z...

Just uninstall whatever software that you don't need? It speeds up ur boottime without all these Bloatwares..

sorry, hope to see if there any picture for the power adapter? hmm, no USB 3.0, no 7200rpm drive, this may be deal breaker?
*
Why do you want 7200rpm in a netbook? It doesn't really give any performance boost significantly but in return you get lower battery life because of higher power consumption.. It's either SSD or stick with the default one..

I was disappointed with that as well. I asked them what if I do it manually, they said it would void my warranty. I find SSD upgrade in portable netbooks very important, so I think I am going to go for one even if it voids my warranty.

If ASUS 1215b does offer the HDD upgrades to either 7200rpm or SSD it will be a deal breaker for people who value there 1 year warranty. For netbooks I am a bit lenient with the warranty etc... because I do not plan to keep it for more than a year anyway.
*
It won't void ur warranty, the salesman know nuts... There's not even a warranty void on HDD's.. Just that before you send it to warranty, you need to put back ur original HDD then it's fine dy..

Anyone here know when will the asus 1215 be in Malaysia???

It's already here, the C-50 version... E-350 no where to be seen, many mixed feedbacks regarding it, either won't be here or won't be here so soon...

yup...
because based on what i read somewhere in net....
the first batch their released in US came with RAM 3GB and HDD 320G 7200rpm
then they realised that many of user comment on battery life as it was not good as they advertise which is 9hour
so when the 2nd batch...they switch it to RAM 2GB and 500 5400rpm...

as for me...
i really satisfied with my new "netbook"...
but still hope that they can run a little bit "faster" when loading windows.. nod.gif
*
There's a lot of guide regarding speeding up ur boot time on the net, just need some tweakings here n there.. 7200rpm doesn't speed up ur boot time much maybe around 1-2 seconds? We have forumers with 5400rpm HDD achieving 28-30 seconds boot time also.. Follow this guide

so mean tat if really wan to boost up the speed..the solution is install SSD??  hmm.gif
*
Boost what speed? Opening applications fast, yea SSD is the only choice.. Seagate Momentus XT is also another choice but I wouldn't recommend it..

To improve boot time, just follow the guide in the link I posted previously, also remove any useless bloatwares and go to 'msconfig' to configure your startup programs... the less the better...

Try measure with boot timer?

before running, set the program permissions to 'run with administrator'
