What if we register the Care Pack by the end of the current 1 year warranty period?

Is the Care Pack 'countdown' starts from the date of purchase or the date of registration?
*
first you have to registered your product online....
then only you can register HP Care Pack...
and to register you HP Care Pack...you also have to attach proof of purchase@receipt
and it will covered warranty for 3 years from your date of purchase in your receipt....

mine dm1-3022au standard warranty plus 3 years HP Care Pack
bought on 14/4/2011 flex.gif

Hey, I tried a HP DM1z in Harvey Norman the other day, the old version with E-350. It's using 64-bit Windows 7.

I noticed when playing 1080p flash video in Youtube, the frame rate actually drops and the video is very choppy. Can someone confirm this? I'm using Dell M102z and I have the same problem.

The video I tried was this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm0CE5IQuy4&feature=feedu
*
tried to update for latest adobe flashplayer...
and also tried to update your AMD catalyst....

mine got no problem playing 1080p video from youtube...
no dropped frame.....
and i'm using IE9...

check your flash player version here

Got mine yesterday. Removed Windows Starter and installed Ultimate. Kinda sluggish even without any bloatware. I guess a memory upgrade is a must. Can i add a 4GB DDR3 ram to my current 2GB?

Btw, mine came with no pattern at all unlike the one shown on Engadget website. I guess our region got the plain black version with hard plastic cover on it.
*
i think what is shown on engadget web is only for intel i3 ULV version...
mind sharing with us a pic of new dm1???

mine is dm1-4000au looks similar to darkcurves, the soft touch on lid and covers means it feels rubbery instead of hard (battery feel)
*
mind sharing pic with us??!!
notworthy.gif

but i do feel a bit weird in why HP doesn't refresh all dm1 new model with what they called soft-touch???!! sad.gif
and how about the pattern design??is it the same like in engadget website???
or is it just plain flat non-glossy black without any design??? hmm.gif

hi dm1, i would like to confirm that your dm1 did not create this demonic sound from your hardisk when you use it. i took the laptop to the service centre and they say it is normal and refuse to fix it. now the sound is getting louder and sometimes theres a loud scratch. my dm1 is using 500GB Hitachi HTS545050B9A300

or maybe someone kind enough to record a video of their dm1 for me as a prove that mine is broken? cry.gif

*
mine also sometimes got that kind of sound... sweat.gif
especially when i'm using it more than 24 hours...
and yeah...the sound does appear even when mine only about 1 week old
that why i decided to purchase HP CarePack 3 years warranty just in case something "bad" happen... tongue.gif

p/s:
so far nothing "bad" happen to mine 10 month old dm1 except for some BSOD cause by graphic driver i surpose...
and also maybe because dm1 use hitachi HDD..

I checked the specs for some of their netbooks and it has this line....

- Microsoft Office 2010 (Purchase a Product Key to activate a full Microsoft Office 2010 suite.)

What does it mean? It sounds like it comes with MS Office but you cant use it unless you buy a product key?
*
i don't know about current promotion..
but my 1 year old dm1 are preload with windows7 home premium and microsoft office 2010 starter..
office starter comes with ad nod.gif
