QUOTE(mitodna @ Sep 26 2011, 02:32 AM) using dm1-4000au, having a hard time to reinstall Windows, I think I just l leave it, now using booting to Windows 7 in VHD. The drivers is really inside c:\swsetup dm1-4000au Pros: - the beatsaudio is loud - not much of bloatware install - updated Windows 7 SP1 with ie9 - screwless bottom {really need some practise to take it out} - Synaptics touchpad - affordable, at 1099MYR - 180 degree hinge - Bluetooth 4.0 - F11 boot to restore dm1-4000au Cons: - no USB 3.0 - no charging USB port? i'm always store my file not on C partition...local d is only 2gb i think...need to relocate back but must reinstall windows 7 but don't know how to install it...must bought xternal optical drive n bought dvd/cd??

You need to find Windows 7 ISO and at least 8gb thumb drive, 4gb may work. Software: windows 7, Try search digital rivers link, Windows 7 USB tool, Microsoft version, Easues Partition Manager to shrink the C:
Use the USB tool to format (clean) the thumb drive. Note: Your thumb drive will be wiped.
Then just boot by USB. install your licensed version with the key on the COA. The drivers is in c:\swsetup .

QUOTE(nashriq @ Sep 25 2011, 09:10 AM) What if we register the Care Pack by the end of the current 1 year warranty period? Is the Care Pack 'countdown' starts from the date of purchase or the date of registration? If u buy at the eNd of the warranty that would be rm199 for one yr. To enjoy rm199 for two years extended warranty it has to be done in the first 3months from the date of purchase. This post has been edited by tpl: Sep 27 2011, 03:42 AM

Got mine yesterday. Removed Windows Starter and installed Ultimate. Kinda sluggish even without any bloatware. I guess a memory upgrade is a must. Can i add a 4GB DDR3 ram to my current 2GB?
Btw, mine came with no pattern at all unlike the one shown on Engadget website. I guess our region got the plain black version with hard plastic cover on it.

Actually i would like the make it total 6gb ram. Meaning the ori 1x2gb and add another 1x4gb. Btw, does e450 always feel sluggish like this? I notice even my sister's lenovo which comes with e350 is kinda slow. I thought it was a lenovo thing, haha.

mine is dm1-4000au looks similar to darkcurves, the soft touch on lid and covers means it feels rubbery instead of hard (battery feel)

Actually, one of the reasons i went with dm1 was coz of the pattern on the front and back cover but instead got plain black, haha. Well, it's ok, still a nice laptop, just needs more ram.
