I just got myself a NAD Amp and wharfedale bookshelf. I am going to complete it with a DAC and computer/cheapo dvd player.
Your budget is high enough to get many entry level system. Start visiting hifi shop and do the audition.
You will have to do your own research as only you will know what kind of music that you listening to.

Hi,

I have set my mind to below budget stereo system:

stereo amp: NAD C352
cd player   : NAD C542
speaker     : B&W 602 S3 or Paradigm Studio 20 or Monitor Audio Bronze B2
interconnect : Van den hul the name or QED QUNEX 2
speaker cable : Chord Carnival Silver Plus Biwire [FONT=Impact]

The question is how can i find these item in KL or Johor?

Any KL  people can help?

In additoin, how is the system sounds like?

I haven't decide the speaker yet and need go for more audition recently. Any recon show room in KL as i will wen to KL next week for holiday? Any reconmendation on speaker in that price range? (<RM1500)

Thanks in advance.

yes. and 1 of my friend is having moving sales, he got a philips Az1834 cd player but i dno if its audiophile range product. if it isnt, pls suggest me a fullset.

I understand that audiophile must have a CD player. But in this computerage, we are more advance smile.gif. A dvd player + DAC which could accept digital input from pc /media player, might be more versatile and flexible. I had this combination and it is on par with entry level CD player , I think even better.
It just my 2 cent.

sifus....my current setup only consist of a Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 speakers with a normal cd player where i'm planning to get myself an audiophile cd player...

hence, would it be a good idea to pair my aego m with a marantz cd player like the CD5003/5004 to get a better result or should i totally revamp my setup and get an AV Receiver, amplifier and loudspeakers...

the main use of my rig is solely for music as i only occasionally watch movies..

all members reply is highly appreciated.. notworthy.gif

Please try to get a DAC, many china DAC is cheap and as good in SQ as entry level CD player.
If you really in music, find an stereo integrated and not a AV. Cheap stereo integrated amp could beat normal AV in SQ easily. But of course if you want to add on later make sure your integrated stereo got pre-out and sub out to add power amp and active subwooofer.

I never buy home theater before...
hope the sifu here can help to recommend.

Actual I looking for surround sound bar /2 speaker with sub woofer.
Main purpose for movie and pop/ jazz music.

budget for speaker 2k and max up to 4k....
But hopefully can get around 2k+.

em... or should i get second hand?

I am not expert in HT, but only seen philips and yamaha got that kind of setup.
Yamaha got quite good review, but the subwoofer cum receiver is not bassy at all.

But my advice is the virtual surround work good in room with wall to rebound the sound.
If you trying to put it in a bigger living room, sound not that good one.

sad.gif actually i just plan to put into big living hall.....
then how... is it means that , for bigger living hall can not put surround system?
*
Can put surround but not the soundbar.
Soundbar setup is the all in one speaker right (left /right/centre/virtual rear right/left) + subwoofer.
But I think yamaha got 20K soundbar , then is different story.

The traditional 5.1 (6 pieces set) to 7.1 HT (8 pieces set) will give you better effect.

hi...

how much should a stereo amplifier Marantz PM6002 second hand cost?
i found 1 costing rm680...worth the price?

btw, my speakers, pioneer s510 produces loud popping noise and no music/sound when i last time i connected to Sansui/Sony vintage amp...what could be the problem? speakers busted or amp busted? can speakers be repaired?
*
Speaker not that easily broken, high change that your amp is busted.

I have this question in my head for a long time.
What affordable/good speaker could I pair with a TA2024 amp(15w), the speaker must be affordable since the amp is so cheap.

Let me rephrase, any passive speaker that could Ta2024 T-amp within RM400??

i would suggest u to get a avr instead of an int amp if u listen more on pop genre.
pioneer vsx-522 av receiver + wharfedale 10.1

so no need buy dac already.

i will only suggest ppl to get an int amp if the system is used for 75% music + 25% movie/gaming. u can try marantz pm6004 + wharfedale 10.1

3k budget will let you go into budget home theatre or an intermediate stereo system. if an desktop system i would strongly suggest t-amp and spend most of your budget in gettong quality speaker (at least 70%, ), the rest in dac and maybe an preamp, and cables.

thats the stereo audiophile path, for home theatre i might get a quality av first (60% of your budget) the rest into speakers and cables, you then save bullet to upgrade your speakers slowly( and complete system will easily exceed 10k)
and 10k system some still think not consider as hifi standard
