Hi, I m a newbie here amd noob in this Hi Fi world. I intend to setup a HIFI set. Budget is around $5k (would it be difficult to buy with this budget?). My choice of music is very wide range. But mostly instrumental, jazz, vocal and pop. Hope you guys can recomend me some good setup set and value for money.

RM5k is sufficient for a budget but quality Hi Fi set up, including the cables.I am not familiar with every model out there even for the budget range, but popular brands like Marantz,Denon,Yamaha,NAD,Cambridge Audio etc. have entry level CD players and amplifiers that are good value for money. As usual you have to test them yourself to find out what suits you best in terms of taste, synergy and value.I recommend you spend the most on your source rather than speakers and get some decent set of interconnect and speaker cables that suit the system and music.

There is too many brand and model in the market that diffiuclt for me to choose. Can I ve some guide to where I can start up. Like which shop to try out or a set that I can start up. Than slowly I can mix and match around. Should I just walk into any HIFI shop and ask them to recomend to me? I worry some are not bother and sell me a lousy set. When they sense I m noob.

A professional Hi-Fi shop is supposed to accommodate to its customers' needs, if they give you lousy service then they don't deserve your business.Go to any Hi-Fi shop and tell them your listening preferences and budget then ask for recommendations. It will be better if you bring along your favorite CDs that are suitable for system testing. There are quite a few Hi-Fi shops in Amcorp mall, it should be a good place to start smile.gif

Thanks bro. Than I will start to look at Amcorp Mall. I m not worry about the service. But take advantage to sell you a cheap set as a n expensive one since I m noob. You know not all the shop are pro and honest.
