Guys I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I plan to upgrade my living room with surround system.

I have in my mind Onkyo Receiver TX-NR509/609
http://www.cresdo.com/tvsaudioskaraoke/rec...s/product/19810

I already set aside the budget approximately RM2-3k for the receiver.

Despite NR609 being able to support 7.2 channel. I only intend on going for 5.1 system for the time being.

How much should I spend to get a decent full range speaker to be used on the 509/609?

Another question, if I fix 5.1 to 609 although it has 7.2 input, can I toggle it to 5.1 mode?

My dad is an avid fan of Onkyo.. so I'm wondering if there are any Onkyo models you guys can suggest?

Thanks !

Guys, any good subwoofer to recommend in the range of RM500?

I would like to pair it with my Onkyo NR828

Thanks!

Highly recommend Marantz PM6005 with built high quality DAC. It is a very fine amp... Soon your speaker will be the limiting factor.  brows.gif

Once bought and if not happy enough, PM me and I buy from you with some discount price. My dream amp...  notworthy.gif
Come on... Onkyo 828 with RM500 sub???  shakehead.gif
Why I am not surprise to hear that?

If you are not happy with the amp for any reason in the future, please PM me with your offer price.  tongue.gif

I just didn't feel like spending so much on subwoofer, I don't need a very heavy bass effect.

But for the sake of argument, what kind of subwoofer would you suggest then?

Cheers!
