QUOTE(dlyz @ Oct 19 2008, 10:04 AM) Can someone who has experiece with this 3 speakers tell me the general comparison of sound signature of these 3 speakers and whether they are hard to push and which is more powerful (i know quality more important but there are time where i just wanna jump up and dance it depand on what types of music do you listen to ? but i don't think sub is necessary for music listening. 2ch stereo speaker is sufficient.1. Monitor Audio BR2 2. Mission M33i (I have tried the M31i before, love it but think its a bit weak for my room) 3. Mourdant-Short 904i Side question, would adding a subwoofer into the above be good for music? (Rotel>Sub>Speaker setup) Anyone got any review for RA-04? Thanks in advance. personally i listen to vocals, jazz, and country rock. my combination is valve amplifier, rega apollo cd player and lately acquired a pair Harbeth speaker and no fancy cables. |

QUOTE(dlyz @ Oct 23 2008, 01:23 PM) Yes from what i heard when audioning my friends M31i, the bass is quite nice without sub. It would be sufficient for my normal music. hard to tell, i'll suggest you to bring yr power amplifier along to audition with it.power amp<--->speaker impedance matching and driving power is very important. But is it enough for hip hop, hard rock, crunk? Sadly i didnt manage to audition those genre. Basically what i want to know, of the 3 speakers i mentioned, which would sound better? |

QUOTE(nikita @ Dec 8 2008, 10:24 PM) hi all frankly, i'll prefer Yamaha if between Onkyo & Yamaha i have a budget of less than 4k for all in which i wud wanna buy maybe next month or after cny.. wud like to use the onkyo 606 or the yamaha 636(i think) and a 5.1... its for my living room.. do u think the cable arrangements will be a hassle especially for rear? was wondering..where cud i buy those at a bargain.. or..was reading..issit really true tat i cud buy in singpore for better price? wud use this system for all my entertainment+games+music.. but if i wud set a preference...music den movies den games..realli luv music..thinking of hooking from the pc via optical.. luv vocal, jazz, concert type of music.. pls help..thanks! Now i am using a v1800. if you really likes to listen to music then i 'll advise you to get an amp for music ONLY likewise Naim Nait, Audio Cambridge, Audio Research, Jadis, Mcintosh and many others. its so much more musical & sounded more mellow. |

QUOTE(nikita @ Dec 12 2008, 08:24 PM) hmm Onkyo 606 , previously i see many units in Harvey Normal, Ikano.how bout those bundle like jamo n onkyo 606??? was quoted around 5k.. issit nice and worth it? or u guys think theres better(cheaper yet more good) sound production than jamo ? u guys know how much i cud get onkyo 606 in pj or kl ?? any idea how much singapore is selling? (heard it cud be cheaper than malaysia) perhaps you can check out there. Onkyo 606 is belong to Home Threatre system, i don't think its ideal for HiFi Stereo for music enjoyment. |

all i can say is the journey of seeking the so called 'right sound' is endless.
but after 8 years into stereo hifi , i still on the path. its important to remind yrself that audio is not about expensive gears = good /balance sound. it requires lotsa patience , time along the journey to acquire the knowledge of room treatment (sound diffusion/reflection from wall/floor/ceiling), amp/ speaker/hifi rack material, weight & positioning, basic principles of amplifier, sound matching/complement with each of yr gears from power cables, interconnects, passive/active pre-amp, power amp, analog Turn tables, solid-state/valve amplifiers, types of vacuum tubes/ solid state transistor sound, balance/ power conditioner, plugs&sockets n etc etc. too much to mention about.. afterall its not just about audio , i am happy to meet and share with ppl with the same interest /hobby. |
