yes, but i need ur guys recommendation what type of product or brands that suites me well according to my budget or is it enough for me juz to buy aego m n pair with high end cd player that cost around 1.5k?

AegoM will not be able to outperform any bookshelf setup around RM5k. smile.gif

Perhaps you can look into the Sonus Faber series. I'm setting up a Sonus Toy setup for under RM5k at the moment.

Enigmatic, perhaps you can let us know the model you are planning?

Vivikarna, for 5k, i still think go for bookshelf and integrated amp and cdp would suit you. If you have any hifi shop nearby, go and listen is better. Since your an all rounder, i can suggest you search out these brands to try.

CDP and Amp, try look for Marantz or Cambridge Audio or NAD. Amp if you want something in the 60-75 watt, expect to pay around 1.8k or more. 45 watt amps are about 1.5k i think. CDP if you get entry level, 1k or more.

Assume you want a 70watt amp like Marantz PM7001 (RM1850 ish) and a Marantz CD-5003 (RM1k ish), that leaves you with RM2150 balance for speaker and cables.

Brands you can seek out is Wharfedale, Mission, Tannoy, Mourdaunt-Short and some others. These are entry level. Cables you maybe can nego with the shop if you buy whole set from them or order from futureshop.co.uk, cheaper most the time.

Hope tis helps. In the end... you have to try. Your taste is unique. You may like more bass or more treble etc.

I'm funding for Sonus Faber Toy paired with NAD3020A modded (amp already purchased). Haven't opt for a pair of stands yet, and will be getting a CDP next year. smile.gif

Tested the Toy a couple times over, and I strongly prefer it over the Concertino and other bookshelves around the same price range. Heard the Toy with a nearly RM40k+ setup as well, and I can say that the Toy really really can go far. laugh.gif

Not the gauge but the length as well. Know a bit about wires as I actually majored in physics. Hahahahaha
But that was like three decades ago.

Actually I prefer a larger gauge power cord for the amps but shorter in length. 16awg & 1m is my preference.
For the CD player, I would prefer 12 to 14awg but 1.5 to 2 meters in length.

Spades or Banana plugs are not the problem here. What I am pissed off at is the fact that I ordered plugs and I got spades. Didn't even know I got spades until I got home. Double parked outside near the bus stop, ran in, collected the V2 and ran out again.

Anyway, will be off to Hong Kong next week and there are a few high end hifi shops within walking distance of my hotel. Don't really know what the prices there will be like but at least I don't have to wait more than a month for the cables. Spoke to a few people and they told me that it is way cheaper in Europe. Now I am at two minds cos I will be going to Europe at the end of the year.

Decisions...decisions.

Don't forget your VAT refund whilst buying in EU as well. A good 19% off.
