I agree but Aida costs RM275 ler. Was thinking maybe Lilium would suffice. If I get Aida, need to get Passlabs XS300 whereas if I get Lilium, I can get away with XS150

BTW, my Valhallas 2 are still somewhere else rather than here in Malaysia. Gonna strangle Alvin when I get a chance to see him. That's why I might not even get the Passlabs from him. Besok Lusa mentality.

I know the Val2 are hand made to order and I know that Alvin knows about it as well. And as an experienced sales rep I am certain that he knows exactly how long it will take to make it and to send it over and how much contingency time to add in to it all. It was supposed to reach me two weeks ago and now he tells me it will need a minimum another two weeks (that was last week). I called up again today and he "promised" me that it will be here under 8 days.

The thing is that I am pissed off because I have to call Alvin up every time to chase for it. I really don't care if it is a few weeks late but he could have called me up as a courtesy to inform me instead of me having to chase him every time. The Val2 is not cheap and added to the fact that Alvin also knows that I might also want him to get those Passlabs for me, he sure is treating me like shit. Sometimes I wonder how he treats those who can't afford to purchase his items.

Goldmund is a maybe but I need to find another place to buy them from. I had a Mark Levinson 25+ years ago. Model No.7. Good amp I bought dirt cheap but never realised its potential because I never had the money to get a pair of good speakers. Perhaps that is why I am making up for past "incapabilities" now that I can afford it.

I'll let you know what happened on the day I bought the Val2. Initially he said he will loan me his Val2 but after I paid up the next day he asked me if I can wait for my cables to arrive instead cos I might "scratch" his Val2 when I plug it into my speakers and that will devalue it. He said that he will express my order and will take max 3 weeks to get here. It has been more than a month now and still no cables in sight.

I am a very easy going person and perhaps that is why people tend to take advantage of me but that doesn't mean I don't know or realize it. It is just that life is too short to worry about inconsequential things and people. However, saying that, the individual that takes advantage of my easy going manner is only going to be able to do so once as I will refuse to deal with that same individual again.

Alvin is not too bright in this matter as I am really considering getting the Lilium and the Passlab XS pre and power amps from him. The grand amount would have exceeded 450K. Closer to 500K as I will need another 2 Val2 interconnects as well.

Ah well, I am certain that there are lots of other audio equipment sellers in KL.

Finally got the V2 cables. Bit stiff though. Had a bit of a struggle connecting them up.

Ordered banana plugs but got spades instead but didn't have the breath to argue anymore or the patience to wait for a replacement no longer.

Great sales pitch but lousy follow up.

Ya lor. Ordered banana plugs cos the V2 cables are quite stiff and will use it specifically for the Krell setup only. Now using spades which bends the cable unless I elevate the amp. However, the matter of fact remains that I ordered A and got B instead.

How does it sound now? Still hazy cos I have about 1 hour on it only and my speakers still not run in yet. Hope it will tighten the bass up more later after 50 hours or so. Even the treble still not as crisp as I like it.

The frigging cables are actually quite heavy. The large wooden box that came with it is even more heavier. However, there wasn't a serial number on the warranty card as I would have expected.

Hushymushy, don't let me influence you as Alvin (from Perfect Hifi for those who don't know) might be different when he is serving you. All I can state here is how he served me which does not automatically imply that he will do the same to other clients. One thing though...did you realise that Alvin always had this capacity to say that your setup is wrong whereas he has "another" better solution and that he can "assist" you in this undertaking? I know...sales pitch and all but it drives you up the wall, eh?

Ya...200 hours or more which means that my setup will sound mediocre from now till mid 2015 or even later in the year cos I don't play them much. Hahaha.

BTW, how much did you pay for your Nordost powercords?

What do you mean "entry level" cords...you mean there are other levels?
So...the "entry level" are not as good as the "intermediate" or "advance" level cords?
Better conductivity? Better resistance to fluctuations?

BTW, where did you get those Nordost power cords? (I am really praying that it is not from Perfect Hifi)

Oh shit. I just found out that I can only buy it from Perfect Hifi. Ah ha! I just found out that they have a dealer on Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong. Hahahaha...I will be there next week. No more Alvin.

Might even get the Nordost "Sort Fut" and V2 interconnects there. Depends on the price though.

Not the gauge but the length as well. Know a bit about wires as I actually majored in physics. Hahahahaha
But that was like three decades ago.

Actually I prefer a larger gauge power cord for the amps but shorter in length. 16awg & 1m is my preference.
For the CD player, I would prefer 12 to 14awg but 1.5 to 2 meters in length.

Spades or Banana plugs are not the problem here. What I am pissed off at is the fact that I ordered plugs and I got spades. Didn't even know I got spades until I got home. Double parked outside near the bus stop, ran in, collected the V2 and ran out again.

Anyway, will be off to Hong Kong next week and there are a few high end hifi shops within walking distance of my hotel. Don't really know what the prices there will be like but at least I don't have to wait more than a month for the cables. Spoke to a few people and they told me that it is way cheaper in Europe. Now I am at two minds cos I will be going to Europe at the end of the year.

BTW, I got the Sur Fit, 8 of them to be precise. Walked past customs at KLIA. Still lying around at my place cos didn't have the time to fit it onto the speakers. Will perhaps fit it onto my amps instead cos don't wanna drill the Guarneris even though they are not on their stands (which is still with Alvin).

Having 2nd thoughts about the Passlabs. Too many break ins at my place (house) and at where I was hoping to move to (house). Might opt for a condo instead and the Passlabs take too much of the limited real estate.
