QUOTE(josal @ Dec 4 2011, 07:31 PM) If you done it yourself by dialing *118# it will took less than minute as what I did. Simple process...slot in your newly bought sim card into your hphone and dial the number...later just follow instruction to keyed in your name as in your ic follow by your ic number. 14 hours is too long to wait, they really took their time to register it for you. Added on December 4, 2011, 10:30 pm QUOTE(darkcurves @ Dec 4 2011, 07:37 PM) Yes, you can do it yourself and it took me less than a minute to get activation confirmation. I'm thinking of getting a new number just to test out the coverage and speed first before I take the plunge to U mobile. One reason being is that I won't be able to use back my Youth Club plan should I revert back to Maxis

QUOTE(baba @ Dec 4 2011, 04:51 PM) Have you registered thru *118# by keying your name & ic number. You should receive a sms confirmation your line is actice in few minutes only after sending the information. I bought my sim pack from 7-Eleven store, they will not do the registration for you like other shop which will request your id card or record your name & ic number. huh?i dial *118# from my new sim pack, it keep telling me pls register you sim pack or wait until the registration is complete =.=" or theres a command like *118#IC<space>NAME??? anyway, just now activate my sim pack in damansara |

UM is awesome, i've got a sim but HYC rates are very low compared to UM. |

I'm looking to change from Maxis since it doesn't offer any good deal for data. U mobile is the cheapest around with their 1GB plan for only RM28/month but I'm a little worried about coverage. Well If I could maintain 2 phones, including bringing both of them out, I'll choose Digi's 100MB/day for 100 days for only RM100, but the catch is that it's only a data sim card, so you can't make/receive calls or sms. If only my phone has a dual sim card slot, then I'd probably maintain my maxis line and get the Digi lol |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Dec 5 2011, 02:33 AM) You're using two phones? yeah you should worry about the coverage. like i said before, i'm staying at ipoh where i should get 3g coverage but naahh.. can only get 2g. and lately the network isnt stable. but what to do. UM offers the most affordable data plan so far. so need to tolerate a bit on this drawback. unless the worse comes to worst, i wont mind changing telco again. evaluated their coverage over the last 2 weeks, the 3G and above is really patchy at my place,
Penang Island = Bayan Lepas phase 4 & Sungai Ara. Sometimes there would be 3-4bars and suddenly it'll drop to 0 bars and revert to 2G. Literally at the same spot. Irony of ironies, at queensbay mall entrance, barely 300m from umobile centre, there is no reception at all be it 3G or 2G. It just refused to even roam to celcom's 2G. If I paid RM28 for this, I think I wouldn't even use up 100mb per month. |
