hi.. i'm trying to overclock my P4 3.06Ghz socket 478.. but it seem everytime i overclock there will be some failer like blue screen coming out and doesn't have sound when window is start.. is it because it's too hot?

if i overclock my intel processor.. do i have to maintain the temp into below 40 degree in order to stable the system?
