actually 1.38v not consider high yet la....iirc 65nm can go till 1.5v brows.gif

but since ur temp is high then too bad already.... might have to get a better cooler...

normally u just push with vcore 1st to get a clock.... once the clock wont go up anymore no matter what vcore u push, then start tweaking Vfsb or Vnb lo...

but vfsb n vnb don suka suka add la... vfsb too high can kill ur proc....

at last i just stayed at 3ghz@1.365v
but the temp on load is max 67'c so im pretty happy with that.

yup...normally i will disable C1E n EIST...

but actually if u dont want disable is oso ok one la...it will automatically downclock ur proc on idle n help u save some eletricity lo....

i use a stock heatsink and im satisfied with my temp but i think it could be better.anyone letting go of any good hsf.....

that proc is running at reduce speed, will bump the multiplier once on LOAD state.

but ur temp is something wrong... way too high for a 45nm proc. my OCed quad full load only 68C max...

any temp monitoring software can be used. just set TJmax to 100C. intel recently released the spec for 45nm proc.

well its real high....i think maybe the stock heatsink not sit properly....btw im using the stock heatsink thermal paste, which i believe not really good...

Hi guys, newbie here 1st post

Just some quick question about overclocking my new pc

I had disabled C1E and Speedstep, but my proc will still auto downclock when idle(6*400fsb instead of 8.5*400fsb), is this normal?

also load line calibration? enable or not to enable??

overclocked my q9550 to 3.41Ghz @ 1.26vcore, temp is around 62c(load) BUT my nb temp is at 70c(idle) and 87c(load) during prime95 test. How far sifu recommend nb temp to be? 87c is scary ler

Q9550
Asus Maximus 2 Formula
4x 2gb kingston hyperx ddr2 1066
640gb wd hdd
2x HD4870 cfire
CM cosmos s
