0.25Vcore. IC, but i think i try it on new PSU. +0.25 = dangerous or still safe to play with? SOrry dunno much about OC. Normally its hard to OC higher with the stock Vcore right?

not really.
it depend on your CPU.

eg. some 2.4c can oc to 3.3ghz easily with default vcore
some 2.8c can do 3.8ghz easily with default vcore

heard 3.0c isn't that really a good overclocking chip...

Stock Vcore bios = 1.525 and Corecenter show 1.55

OIC, then i better stick with 3.4 better. since it pass all test. Not prime yet. Maybe wait i get a new PSU 1st and more ram 1st. No point, last time when bought it dunno... or else i also go for 2.8C since its cheaper and good OC. Hai~~~

Max temp 53C ok? reading by corecenter.Speedfan is 52-51. And also about PCI/AGP lock. when increasing FSB, it automatically increase too till 77+ then i manually set to 67.01/33.50. Is it ok for current Ati9600pro and future upgrade (6800 or wadever)?

hi to all sifus...need help on overclocking my system

1) p4 3.0GHz presscott:
i was able to o/c my cpu to 3.75GHz with fsb set at 250MHz. the question is how much is the Vcore threshold for this cpu? default should be 1.375v now o/v to 1.4125v is it still in the safe region?just dun want to burn my cpu....my current temp is around 53~55c max...is it fine?

2) Corsair pc3200 xms twinx ver1.2 (ch-5?)default timing is 2,3,3,6
my mobo is asus p4p800se, the max o/v i could do is just 2.85v and the result is 2,2,3,5@200Mhz but if o/c the fastest speed ascertain is 2.5,4,4,8@225Mhz, which one is better? also anyway i can go higher on the voltage for the vdimm? any alternative rather than using the ocz booster?

No sifu here, but trying to help...

1) besides ur overclocking results what interest me is the temp...53-55c max???if i were u i kick in more vcore coz ur presscot is consider a cool one...mine at the office running 67-75c stock vcore....

2) i havent heard any bioses that has the option but u can try to get booster and find out if u can pump in more juice...since it is safer that vmod...its better too...

flunctuations is normal.... -+0.03 but if the flunctuations is more than -+ 0.05/6 thats abnormal....PSU problem is most common,...dirty current should also be the problem... notworthy.gif

it is the motherboard itself.

as long as the flunctuations keep at a very small range, it should be safe.

i915 chipset = locks upto 10% of the standard FSB, after that it wont boot.. ada safety mechanism..
if you still wanna playaround with your current mobo, you can try adjusting its chipset voltage (if you have that option la.. will increase 10 - 15 MHz jer, but better than nothing) ..

btw, where did you get your ES from? and how much?

Hehehehe...actually we're planning on getting the Lanprty UT 915 T2 as he's quite gatal about the Winbond OC thingy edi and he still wants to play with DDR's. And the BIOS is quite funny. No voltage adjustments. Just timings and a fixed set of FSB's from 333/400/533/600 which I presume are more to dividers. And since it's an ES, can play with multi's too
