I'm also in the mood for SRPG recently, what particular console you are looking for?

Not much interesting SRPG on the NDS.. the only one I want to play is Valkyrie Profile. Heard good things about Fire Emblem, but I have never touch the series before. Or you can try Super Robot Wars, although they are only available in Japanese and more like fan service rather than tactical.

tactics game i've played are:final fantasy tactics A2, luminous arc 1&2, valkyrie profile, knights in the nightmare

to me FFTA2 is the best one i have played since it is very versatile and lots of thing can be done. luminous arc series is okay as there is not much special feature in the battle.

valkyrie profile is quite quite fun but there might be alot challenges because it often force me to restart the stage. there is a gauge that you have to increase by overkilling your enemies and will decide your reward of the battle. if you didnt get good rewards for a few battles, the continuing battles will be verrrrryyyyyy tough since most of the good EQ are obtained there.

knights in the nightmare is considered a tactical game but in fact it is a mixture of bullet hell and tactical game. basically u use your stylus to control a wisp while avoiding attacks/bullets. it is definitely not a tradition tactical game but it is recommended if you want to try something unique.
