hi, what brands of birth control pills are available in malaysia? i've been on yasmin for 1/2 year. it makes me tired and kills my libido. i'm planning to switch but unsure of which brand to switch to. i heard alesse(Lessina, Aviane, Lutera) is a lower dosage one but is it available in malaysia? also i know diane is popular but it's not fdi approved in the us? and i heard of hair loss problems as well? kinda worried. any recommendations?

I'm 24 and I've been on BCP for a couple of years and I'm not pregnant so I can say it's definitely effective (HAHA!).

Anyway, my first pill was Yasmin. It made my skin great and I think I may have lost a little weight but it made me kinda tired and down all the time. Sex drive became non-existent. I was on this for more than 6 months then I decided to switch to a lower estrogen pill because I read somewhere it would improve my moods.

I was on Mercilon for a while(can't remember how long exactly) and while it didn't have all the negative side effects of Yasmin, my skin wasn't spectacular. I didn't feel tired and that was really good. After a while I started breaking out so I decided to switch to something which would improve my skin.

So now I'm on Diane. I'm quite happy with this. My skin is good, I don't feel down/tired like when I was on Yasmin. Also doesn't kill my sex drive like Yasmin did. I may have put on a little weight, not very noticeable but it could be due to my new lifestyle(working in the office eating out a lot not much movement).

I guess my experience with BCP is positive unlike all the negatives I've read(people only seem to post negative reviews). I'd recommend girls to go on it because your body is your responsibility, not the person you're sleeping with. Mistakes happen and if your bf gets you pregnant, unless you believe in abortion, you're trapped for life. I think a lot of people take this too lightly.

My advise would be to try different pills with different dosages until you get the right one for you. Might take a while(I made sure I used the pill for 3 months before switching) but it's worth it.
