Hi..it was my friend's laptop acer 5750G...Got few problem...for some didnt know the spec, here it is





OK, so the problem here is, he said he always got lag every 10-15 seconds... lag, then playable again..then lag again n so on continuously (the fps recorded by FRAPS down to 0, then up, then 0 again..)

He said the problem occurs mostly on fps game like COD modern warfare2 & 3rd ps splinter cell conviction ...

...i wonder what the problem???



& Ironically, my other friend, using the same model 5750G said he got no lag at alll, n can play COD blackops at highest setting...

here what happen on splinter cell conviction

is there anything that we must tweak on? on that gt540m?

Hope 5750G owner can help me...

Hmmm, might be Optimus then.

Add the game's .exe to the program settings and set it to use the Nvidia GPU in the control panel.

bro my suggestion try do some clean install, then u can rectify the problem. gc driver might be tricky sometimes

clean install means??

First open up the Nvidia control panel.




Click on 'Add'. Then go to the folder where the game's .exe is installed in. Select it and then at the second drop-down menu, select 'High-performance Nvidia processor'. Click 'Apply' and then accept.

Sorry bro. Can't really say what's wrong with it.

What type of anti virus your friend is using, is it up to date?
Internet line?
Check Task Manager for CPU and Memory Usage?

Try use QuietHDD and disable APM...

maybe fraps is causing the lag?

i m a user of acer 5750g , but i never face any lag while playing COD black ops , but i did face a problem , i cant update my driver ( cannot install beta 270.51 for nvidia 540m) , btw TS, can you tell me where your fren download his driver?

format OS.. freeze few sec really quite serious.. maybe due to patch problem??

actually it freeze few seconds, and then, continue again... it continuous.... really2 annoying...

@djronzai, are u sure u can play smooth blackops? no lag at all?

i have this problem as well but i fixed it by 1st uninstalling the old nvidia drivers. then after restart pc i managed to install version 270 beta. if didn't uninstall, then can't install at all. but i am on asus n53sv, not acer, so maybe diff?

i encounter same problem with Hot Pursuit. fixed by Alt+Tab and open task manager, set cpu affinity to single core, go back into game and out again, set back affinity to all cores.

not sure if your problem similar case

u using the 270 beta driver? so how is it? any buggy areas?

no problems for me so far. i only installed it coz i read in bioware forum, newest driver required in order to let dragon age 2 detect gt540m card.

oh, maybe i shud try the new driver too @@
