QUOTE(shamal @ Apr 12 2011, 01:59 AM) It's definitely not the router. The Huawei dies, even if I leave the wireless router switched off and disconnected. VOIP light goes red. My phone has a dialtone, but I get busy tone whenever I call anywhere. I also can't call my number from my cellphone. What's really disturbing is that I got this installed on the 28th of last month, and it still isn't working - what kind of service is this? It's even worse than Streamyx, and that was pretty awful. Also, even though it's an upgrade, they didn't automatically cancel the Streamyx, so I'm paying double this month - and getting no phone, no internet and no tv. Shamal i got the exactly same problem since couple of hours ago. this is the 3rd time happened to me. damn bad luck.. my dsl link is up and stable. my voip light is red.. and i cant dial connection. just contacted CS they reset my port still doesnt work. they said on their side detected my voip is up but unable to get thru.. haih... i just got my unifi less than a month.. shamal: where do u stay? QUOTE(JinXXX @ Apr 14 2011, 09:09 AM) isn't the huawei thinggy just a bridge device ? syn attack shouldn't reach it also... the voip is on a totally separated network, not a "ONLINE" network.... yes. it is bridged for internet access and and iptv. not the voip. voip authenticated need to be done in BTU. so do not hard reset your BTU.

So far I have tried 2 method to connect UniFi in different way.
1. Using a PC/Server (Requirement 2 NIC) Create a VLAN with VLAN ID 500. Bridge the VLAN and LAN with a static IP address (it's consider a local IP too). Create a PPPoE and connect it. I have been using this method since Streamyx but without the VLAN. I felt its faster for torrenting.
Advantage: More throughput Faster for torrenting Able to update multiple DynDNS domain accounts using DynDNS Updater.
Disadvantage: No DDoS attack protection Port Forwarding require to reconnect the connection Internet connection down if the PC/Server hang
2. Using Firewall/Layer3 switch which come with VLAN Tagging feature. I tried ZyWALL USG 100, 200 & 300. Create a VLAN over WAN and connect it.
Advantage: Able to create firewall policies (blocking ports / IP) Create port forwarding on the fly without restart
Disadvantage: Expensive Less throughput if the device is too low end
These 2 methods will by pass the D-Link DIR-615 router since I really don't bother to use it unless there is something wrong with my UniFi so I'll temporary use it to confirm my line is OK.
I have also try to login the Huawei HG655a. Not much things to do in there.
