Ok guys, I just signed up for Unifi a week ago.... I'm wondering is the IPTV worth it?

This is because I want my router/modem/everything to be upstairs as usually my family and I stay upstairs...

Problem is there is a TV downstairs.... But I insist that I want my router upstairs....

If IPTV is worth it, would it be a good idea to get a powerline Ethernet adaptor?
Cos I don't think my family will like to see a Ethernet cable hanging on the wall...
How much is one? And what are the chances of it not working? What brand would you all recommend?

RM100++ per pair....  D-Link banyak model...  TP-Link pun ada...

before ur installation start..  suggest you try out the Powerline Adaptor for the 2 particular plug u wanna connect in between...

Ok, but the problem is if it doesn't work.... I cannot re send it back to the shop.... Long time ago, shops more friendly, say if cannot work bring back.... Now they are like you buy, u tanggung..... Unless the product spoil, they won't play nice with you.... So, got any nice shops ar? In Digital Mall or SS 2....

That was fast! That means TM was doing some testing or were facing slight hiccups?

any total replacement for unifi from linksys ?

Why Linksys? They aren't as good as they were back then.... + Older models had issues with torrents...

for budget networking, i cant think of anything other than linksys and asus. My current linksys router has been serving me well almost 6 years with all sort of abuse and still going strong. But i didn't know if the reputation has changed with their new models as i never bought another linksys since then.
My experience with brands contains the word "link" in their name has been disastrous.  vmad.gif

look like i need go for tp link. since asus not ready for the replacement
*
Lol....I'm using a TP-Link.... Very reliable.... Except I'm using a different model than the 841N...

For budget, I've seen Linksys' reviews, they aren't that great at wifi performance at stock......

My ex office SOHO network was built using TP-Link equipments. Router hanged so frequent that I almost smashed the poor thing. Print server and other stuff also will go down once in a blue moon even when no one was using before hand. Bad experience and i never gonna dare buying anything TP-Link anymore.
I asked my contractor to patch back the hole. so mine basically is hole free. not even a single mm. And he didn't charge me a single penny.

Ouch... That was with their enterprise equipments I guess? It is ok if you don't wish to get a TP-Link... But you will/might smash TM's D-Link.. I heard it is that bad...

yup. unifi is hooking up to the 6 yeras old wrt-54g  tongue.gif
I'm still thinking of hooking up a gigabit switch to the router, or wait for a gigabit switch router with unifi compatible firmware later on to get rid of DIR-615 and linksys at once.

But I wonder when that firmware will be released to public...

RT-N13U does not have gigabit ethernet

Right, I forgot....... Now I remember I bought the WR1043ND for Gigabit ports.... My other option was the RT-N16... But that was too expensive....
